The Ghost Squad is a Special Forces unit established in strict secrecy by the U.N. to combat terrorism and carry out special highly-classified missions without leaving a trace. As an elite member of the Ghost Squad, players will complete dangerous missions such as eliminating terrorist groups, releasing hostages, deactivating bombs, and even rescuing the US President when terrorists hijack Air Force One! Using the Wii Remote, players will utilize revolutionary selectable weapons including a high powered rifle, sub machine and shot gun, or even engage in hand-to-hand combat.

Technical Details:
4 gameplay modes - includes the full arcade version of Ghost Squad, a Multiplayer mode for 1-4 players and more.
3 dangerous missions to complete - with multiple levels that increase in difficulty as the player progresses. Players will also unlock a variety of alternate routes, different player choice scenarios, and secret weapons and costumes. Time of day for certain missions can also be effected.
Alone or with up to three squad mates, players will rescue hostages, apprehend suspects and deactivate bombs as you eliminate terrorist threats around the world.
25 different tactical weapons to unlock and use during operations.
Special assistance devices such as night vision, thermo vision and a flashlight will ensure that the operation is a success.
One of the first light gun games to make the leap from the arcades to the Wii - using only the Wii Remote

Excellent price! Heat added for sure.

DVD.co.uk have got some extremely competitive pricing on some products at present (e.g. a PS3 "DUALSHOCK 3" controller pre-order price of £17.99 + postage).

But then on other products (for example, "Burnout Paradise" [PS3]) they are one of the most expensive (at £43.99 delivered)!

I hope they are not heading the same way as "Choices UK" did.

BFN,

I believe they are allowed to raise their price before actually supplying the controllers. This is only an estimate? The normal ones are £34 rrp so why and how would they manage to sell these Dual 3 at £17.99....hmm

Anybody own/played this game? Wondering if it is any good in multiplayer mode & if there is any co-op action?

Great little game, "Time Crisis"-esque with a few different branches to choose along the way. Rescue hostages and diffuse some bombs too. 3 different levels, hideout, plane and jungle scenarios. Good control system. Not a fantastic amount of depth to it, can play through the 3 levels in 20 mins although you can upgrade weapons. More of a 'have a few mates round with a few beers' game, where everyone has a turn.

Recommended for this price for anyone with 2 Wiimotes, Zapper adds something too...

I seen this in Asda this morning for £24.99 but wasn't sure how good it is. Would like to know about the online play also.

"The Wii's online capabilities are shamefully wasted too, given that it wouldn't be to hard to synch up multiple cursors over the top of the engine (presumably). Instead, you can submit and keep track of global and regional score tables."

I have the game (bought it from game with a gift card lef tover from christmas). I enjoyed the game in the arcades and its not a bad game at home, but it feels a bit wierd with the way the Wii tracks things with IR, feels a lot more "loose" and not as accurate as traditional lightguns.

Also the game is 100% pure Japanese style cheese (the overdone voice acting is hillarious), but that just adds to the game for me :D, not to mention the extra modes where everyone has dolphin water pistols and instead of knives they come at you with bananas.

My local gamestation have an offer where you can buy the game and you get a "gun" holder for the wii remote for free! Think is 24.99 in store tho so not sure how good a deal this is...

Just also something else to add - I much prefer using the official Wii zapper with this, I have the GAME branded one and also a 1 handed pistol styled one, and the Wii zapper trumps them both (I can blast for ages with the official zapper but easily get finger fatigue with the other two).

I also found that the on-screen tracking of the cross-hair cursor was a little "loose". It didn't matter with the usual point'n'shoot levels, but the boss levels, especially one where the cross-hair changes to a snipers dot & you have to hit the boss in the head proves quite tricky under pressure of time ticking down.

That said, an enjoyable game & a good rendition of the arcade machine. However, I did find that after about 20 minutes of holding the Wiimote horizontally at the screen my hand got tired... enough to turn the game off. I do have a Wii Zapper & will try it this weekend to see if that makes the gameplay last longer.

I have a doubt about the longevity of the title once you've been through all the levels and taken the multiple branches to reach the end, especially as most of the action is of the "on rails" variety as you progress to the eventual level boss, but I guess that is why they added the extras in the "Party Mode" as described above so that you can have a bit of fun with the non-standard weapons. Due to the "on rails" aspect the enemy Artificial Intelligence is non-existence in places so don't expect to have to work around objects to find appropriate points-of-sight like you'd have to do in something, like, "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" [PS3], for instance.

Still prefer "Resident Evil 4 (Wii Edition)" for combat, and I'm getting more into "Red Steel" [Wii] as I make it further into the game. This title isn't as good as the "Time Crisis" series [Arcade &/or PlayStation] , but it fits neatly between the Zombie "hack'n'slash" & Asian "Slash'n'Dash" titles for enjoyment.

PS. The Wii Blaster Gun is available in all GameStation stores, but as it's only a fiver to start with you can buy the "Ghost Squad" title with this deal & then two guns from GameStation & still have change left.

BFN,

fp.

EDIT: Just noticed that the deal has expired & the price has gone back to £23.99. So ignore my "PS." comment about the Wii Blaster Gun :)

You can get QuidCo cashback at DVD.co.uk that isn't available at GameStation (but is at GAME!?!) though.
