£400????????? You're 'aving a laugh........

Three decent games and one dodgy one does not make a £400 Wii bundle - and the accessories are just cheap 3rd party tat they are trying to clear.......

Cold, sorry
#2
one good game there imo others are average. Price is completely ridiculous, seperately you could get this for around £100 or more less avoiding the tat. tbh I'd avoid unless absolutely desperate

If your a serious gamer then you obviously are not going to like Wii. Im not sure how you can say its rubbish because of the market it is intended for and how that market has taken to it. And sales prove that its certainly not a rubbish console, I dont think Marketing has that much to do with it.

This price seems very high for this bundle offer though, they certainly are ripping off customers. Probably aimed at the desperate customers.

Sales mean nothing - n64 and dreamcast were excellent consoles that barely sold

The wii killed off the ds and normal gaming

This console should be max £100

Considering it cost £60 to make

If your buying one on eBay for over £300 then this is a good deal! Glad I got mine in September now.

Comet are a bad retailer, ever since they spun off from Kingfisher and are now run by French Chavs.

I wouldn't spend that much on a christmas present for anyone. I think this world has gone mad. There was a poll a month or so back on how much you spend on your kids for xmas and i think £200/£250 was average. thats my average too. Good luck to anyone buying these and i hope they are worth it to your kids. :)

If you're willing to get up early on a saturday & run around all the usual stores you'll find one. I've seen them in stock at Asda, Game & toys r us by doing this, & on more than one occasion! They're not that hard to find really.

How can OC justify that cost, they are a normal retailer and I think its unfair that they should try and con the public to make a decent profit... I used to like OC but having second thoughts about their ethics now... :x

We have both of these! In fact since the eldest moved out we have turned the spare bedroom into a games room :) . We have a Dreamcast (vastly under-rated), N64, PS1,PS2, Xbox, Xbox360, Gamecube, Wii (if only I had kept hold of my SNES!) - and some plug in retro joystick things! Im a Nintendo and Xbox man, the Playstations are my daughters - otherwise I wouldn't allow them into my house! Shes no chance of a PS3, and to be fair shes not interested - loves her DS too much . Anyway, if you're after a Wii sit tight, I'm sure far better options than this will come, although fair-play to the poster who was only bringing it to peoples attention.

Just boycott the store then. We have used them but i can't blame him for trying. Times may be hard for them, who knows. No-one is forcing anyone to buy them. More the fool who does. Thats my opinion.:)

I get incensed by comments about the Wii being a rubbish console, technical grunt is an issue, however, as a gamer from years ago, when graphics meant nothing and gameplay everything, the Wii meets those criteria GAMEPLAY!!
I found that the Playstation1 (bought on launch day) was one of my least favourite consoles due to the sheer number of buttons, I liked my Xbox and the games and the controller was better than the PS1, I think my Wii brings me back the enjoyable days, Metroid Prime, Zelda, and by far my favourite game so far Resident Evil 4, the controller works well for a great deal of games (not all I admit) and definitely adds something to others, fishing in Zelda.
I think the Wii is still a gamers machine, I think a lot of people also have a Wii and either an Xbox 360 or a PS3 (for those games the wii can't do) yeah I want to Play COD4 but I can't...I will get over it.
You should choose your console because of what you want to play, not just because of graphics.
Sorry - not the right place for this rant...just made me cross:oops:

Hah - I totally agree with you on the too many buttons thing there! Pre Wii, IMHO, the best controller was that of the N64, really comfortable to hold and the buttons were placed very well too. Had great games too - Mario Kart, Goldeneye and ISS 98 were all awesome and to be honest, I have not found any games that match in terms of playability... Maybe I am getting old... :whistling:

The Wii is not a rubbish console, and niether are the other two, although I would say the 360 is the weakest out of the three. Just because a particular console does not have the games that you like, does not make it rubbish, it's just not for you. I have played both the PS3 and the Wii (wich I own) and for me, the PS3 offers nothing new in terms of gameplay. It still has the controller with 50 billion buttons (ok, so maybe I exagerrate there...) and the same style of playing games. The Wii on the other hand is a totally new and I daresay, intuitive experience. Just depends on what you are after though I guess - horses for courses and all that! :)

went for an interview with comet to work in their gaming section a few years back as a buyer.......

didn't get the job cause I predicted after E3 2006 that Wii would outsell PS3 and they thought I was barking.........

so the moral is don't buy console from comet.........bunch of monkeys working in their gaming department of head office!

I own a Wii - I got it on launch day and for the first 3 months it was awesome. Zelda was amazing. Wii sports was fun, Mii's were hilarious. Now, I have the latest games but haven't got the motivation to play them - even though they seem good from the first level or 2 I've played. Of the previous generation all I had was the gamecube, it was great. I got it in the USA before the UK launch with 4 controllers from the start and loved every second of it. The Wii needs more serious 4 player games that aren't just family mini game fests. Nintendo introduced 4 player and sold a lot of N64's on the back of that.

I am not selling my Wii as I'm still awaiting Smash Bros which the last 2 were the best 4 player games ever imo. Ironic that although they are supporting the wii-mote they say it plays best with the gamecube controller.

I've just bought an Xbox 360 though and as I got it in the Argos deal and got the Virgin deal - I've got an Xbox premium with 3 top games and 4 controllers for the same price as a Wii with 3 top games and 2 controllers + nunchucks. All I can say is that i'm loving it at the moment. I was a die-hard Nintendo Fan-boy, I am glad they have made a successful console - but we need some deeper multiplayer games....

As for the N64 controller - it was fantastic at the time, but the gamecube controller surpassed that- then along came the Xbox 360 controller and surpassed that as well. Saying this, the N64 was Nintendo's strongest console in my opinion, the introduction of the analog stick was more of a revelation than the motion sensing as it was put to much better use.

Showing as not available tho. Probably an error on the site and leftover from before the Wii was released. PCW price things at £1000 before the release date in order to stop their staff selling them before the official release date.

When i worked there we had Vista in a week or so before release and every copy scanned at £1000.

Too many shoulder buttons, two too many IMHO, I remember the atari joystick One button, the Nes controller was good, and the Snes was great, but the worst (imo) for anyone who remebers it the Atari Jaguar Oh, My, God....too big and so many buttons..it always seems to me that games developers make controls to fit the number of buttons...and you are right PC Gaming can drive me nuts.

Don't get me wrong would still love a second console, but another outlay of £200 plus £35 a game, I just don't have the disposable, and the Wii has more than enough great games to keep me occupied....anyone played Ghost Squad?

I have to disagree - if youre a serious gamer you'll have all 3 consoles. I do - Whats the point in taking sides - why not enjoy the best of each. Of course this depends on how much cash youve got but there is no law against owning all 3 but some people seem to act like there is.
