Hi all, i've just been into Solihull and popped into Game and notices they have recieved some wii's, I spoke to the manager and he said they have recieved 38 units and are selling they with mario galaxy and ratatooie, good bundle for the kids. The price is £235 but they will most likely go fast, He also said other Game stores would have them instock, so just a heads up really, phone up your local game store and good luck.

If there is a fault with the games they will replace them.
If there is no fault with the games they are only legally obliged to offer you a credit note.
You can insist on a refund, but you may not get it.

If you speak to the store manager [s]he may exchange one/both titles in the bundle for other titles, but that is at her/his discretion.

Other managers may insist they are taken back at trade-in prices meaning that you may have to find additional funds to purchase the titles you do want, as the trade-in prices will be on average £10-£15 less than the store shelf price so that they can then discount them by a fiver as "pre-owned".

Been in Game today in Lakeside, Thurrock (the bottom floor one) and they had Wii instore's but selling for £310 with Ratatouile, Super Mario Glaxay and The Simpsons or Rayman 2. We were told package was £310 with an accesories pack too (for sports play the tennis rackets, golf club etc) but at checkout it didnt include that so we spoke to manager and he let us have that free.

I have to admit i only wanted the mario game but the kids had already asked for the other 2 games for xmas so in a way i am pleased but think it is a consumer con you have to buy an expensive packages instead of just the console!

I can't believe these are still hard to get, I had one about a year ago and sold it to cex but now I'm thinking of getting another but the bundle deals are crazy.

It is Nintendo that is forcing the retailers to sell the consoles with game bundles.

Granted, some stores will be increasing profits with including more titles than they have been requested to but, in majority, the decision is taken out of their hands.

You can always list the games you don't want here at HotUKDeals in an attempt to make some of your money back.

How much do you want for "Ratatouille"?

Would you take £20 + £1 for Recorded Delivery?

Thanks fanpages for the offer but i will keep the games as the kids did ask for them anyway. Thank you tho.

I have also just realised on the receipt that they have charged me £19.99 for a 2yr wrranty for accidental damage etc!! They never asked me that. Do you have to take that out? I already have really good household insurance which would cover the wii anyway.

No, the warranty is not a mandatory requirement. You need to ring the store & they'll probably ask you to go back in for the refund.

From my experience you do have to watch the till receipts for "errors" like this.

Good luck & I hope the kids are grateful for the efforts you & Santa are going to.

You're very welcome.

I would be sceptical of the approach though. As if there is a 14 day "cooling off" period by the time the paperwork arrives you may have exceeded this.

I wonder if the particular sales representative has taken commission on the sale of the policy & when it is returned later he or she may have either left the store or the internal policy is that commission is not taken back.

If you didn't speak with the store manager previously, ring back & ask to speak to them... insist on doing so.

Failing that you can always contact their online customer services:

Or alternatively...

Hours of operation: Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm.

EDIT: Added contact details.
