What the hell is this?
#2
Seen this earlier in the week. NEARLY posted it, but tried to find wee bit more info about it and couldn't, so decided to hold off, and low and behold, someone is gona get REP for it, haha! ;-)

Not too much info floating about regarding this item, and places like Amazon don't (didn't anyway) ahve any such item or pre-order, etc.

Strange?! :?

EDIT: Held off ordering at the time too, but have ordered one now, so guess nearer the time we'll find out more about it. Does sound though like its a plug-in for console, rather than an actual game, which if so, be interesting to see what games/software utilises it.

OMG! That sounds like FAR too much hard work!

It's what "family trainer" will be called here.

basically a DDR-style mat, that you can simulate running on.

Managed to bag one of the wii fits from tesco this morning, so had a good nosey at the advert for it tonight. The wii jog was also advertised, but according to the play website this doesn't appear to be released until 31st October!. No wonder all these extras are in such demand with a build up of 4 months advertising. Wish I'd thought of it:whistling:

Whats next? Wii Breathe? Wii Sleep?

I've had enough of my Wii, The last game that I really wanted was Mario Galaxy.

so looking at it it apears to be a dance mat (not even a wireless one at that).

hmmm hope lots of people order thousands to sell on e-bay hoping to make a fast buck then loose out big style :whistling:

And the competition is much better? PS3 has nothing coming to it. 360's looking okay for the future... but the wii will show its stuff. E3's not far now.

Oh. those games would both require the wii-mote strapon adapter. It would be bundled with both games, and almost certainly never be available anywhere for about 6 months after launch.

I still can't get over link's crossbow training selling out like it did. All for a plastic gun thing.

I would have to disagree, as Family Trainer has an RRP of £49.99, with cheapest pre-order around the £35 mark, INCLUDING on Play.com. Therefore, i do not believe Wii jOG is the same product, as its on offer at £14.99 (RRP £34.99), has a different release date (albeit 3 different sites show Family Trainer with 3 different release dates, but NONE match this Wii jOG release date), and the description is different too! :-D

I think this will be linked to the Wii fit
could be wrong but the video shows a running part which this
thing could be used for.

havent heard of wii jog will have to keep my eyes open but seems strange because you can use wii fit for jogging

It can't be family trainer as they have it listed seperately

wii-fit games already includes jogging stuff, that's just a matter of putting wii-remote into pocket and just run. works perfectly, not sure why we need another mat for this!!

strange this, i got a feeling its a clip on type sensor which just monitors movement so it doesnt need to be hel/in your pocket. will be intresting to see how the info on this develops. not ordered though yet.
#23
I aint gotta clue what this is, have emailed nintendo and will post when I get a reply. Ive ordered 4 anyway as they will surely sell for 25+ on fleabay and profits a profit lol.
#24
To me it seems this product is not a game in itself, but is an interface between the controller and console which allows you to physically move to get your game character to move..........so simply replaces the direction pad with movement.

or have i got this completely wrong??

are you being serious? next you'll be telling us the ps3 can play games.
#29
I've ordered both as I ve got plenty of time to cancel if it turns out there not very good, and I'd rather have them pre ordered than wait for the adverts and have my son writing to santa asking for them! I've still not got a wii fit.
#30
My god you will be able to watch TV through a HD console which most people would have a HD television to play with and alot of them come with free view :?

If I owned a PS3 I would rather have decent games on it than be able to watch TV through it

Hiya i could be wrong but i just had a nosey on play.com and from what i can tell teh wii family trainer is a totally different item to the wii jog (it's for sale for £39.99 pre order for release in sept). Like i say i could be wrong but i think the image with the matt is defo family trainer: http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/5541878/Family-Trainer/Product.html xxx

I quite fancy the sports party thing, could be basic but those things are sometimes good when you can't be doing with the fancy ones (£9.99 pre order for 11th July)
#35
Don't know what it is, but I've pre-ordered. Plenty of time to cancel if it turns out pants.

oooooooooo an expensive freeview box.

I have a digital tuner in my LCD TV and a perfectly fine sky+. Don't want to buy another addon.

if you've got a half decent TV then it should have a decent scaler built into it to do that job for you.

sorry, but PlayTV is not a huge deal. a £20 TV card in a PC can do exactly the same thing.

it's a console tv tuner, even the GameGear had one of them.

No mat is needed with this, all you do is put your Wii remote into your pocket and jog.

Yeah! that's the part of game bundled with Wii-Fit
