This is a bargain! Plus Quidco. Released 12th June. Just ordered mine. In stock. I will be using it with Grand Slam tennis. Enjoy!

Description

When used with specially designed games, Wii MotionPlus tracks players' movements in finer detail and with greater accuracy than ever before, building upon the innovative wireless function of the motion-sensing Wii Remote controller. Even the slightest twist of the wrist or turn of the body is replicated exactly on the TV screen, allowing users to become even more immersed in Wii gameplay. Wii MotionPlus is designed for easy attachment to the Wii Remote controller (sold separately).

My quidco has just validated within the hour - I got £1.11 cashback!

So, this brings down the total cost of the Wii Motion plus to just £14.85 if you go through quidco!

This is cheapest I have seen anyware!

Hope this helps

I hope its more reliable, mine used to wobble like mad and stop a game download after waiting for 10 minutes for it to load.

The ZX81 was rubbish on the internet - no version of firefox will work!

Got mine this morning from adsa.com for £15.91 delivered - they have quidco too (but I don't use it)
#7
do you need to install any software update to use this with games? i only ask as ive softmodded my wii so dont want to install anything that will brick my wii.
#8
install the updates directly from the wii settings menu first.

If you use homebrew, install the firmware downgrader before use

Can you believe that my Brother uses a ZX81 for a door stop?????

I told him that he was an idiot as these things are the forefront of modern technology as we know it.

I wouldn't be without mine

Considering a basic gyroscope like the one in this cost around $80 3 years ago..that would have been a damn expensive Wii remote.

Even now 1 gyroscope like the one included would cost you $40/£25 if you bought it direct from the supplier.

Yeah, stupid Nintendo not inventing technology 3 years before it existed.

The ZX81 ram pack was a lot more useful.

so how much is a full Wii controller now?
#22
I don't know what to think of this.

I received EA Grand Slam Tennis yesterday and though the motion-sensing has improved I don't believe it's 1:1 as it says.

It is very difficult to play with the motion-sensor and alot of practice is required (I couldn't win a match with the motion sensor). Playing without the motion sensor, I always won and the game was just as playable.

I'm not going to write it off yet but you have to be extremely fit to play this game though!
#23
anynone seen any good youtube videos demo'ing it? A non nintendo produced one which is less likely to be biased!

(P.s. I would look but am on limited bandwith broadband :()

Keep at it, I've been playing it last couple of days and love it. Of course you can't just waggle the controller anymore :)

Using nunchuck now as it makes a real difference, but much harder.

well maybe they shouldnt have released the wii until now then :)

at least if has a new skin with it, i feel odd using a wii remote now without the grip.
#26
anyone know what other games use it except Wii Sports Resort?

Yes, I agree. I like the game and the fact that it is challenging is also a plus.

I've only played exhibition matches so far. Playing as Rafael Nadal seems to suit my style of play too (Couldn't properly control Roger Federer or John McEnroe).

I'm not even going to attempt to use the nunchuck until I've mastered the Motionplus first. I think the nunchuck is for the experienced!

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010
Virtua Tennis 2009
Red Steel 2
Some shovelware mini golf game.

I think thats it at the moment.

PS with the Grand Slam Tennis without motion Plus I still haven't won an exhibition match yet (or even a game), only had one game go to a tie break. I'm getting too old.

The Grinder (vampire/werewolf slaying FPS) is supposed to be using it as well (but that's a 2010 release) and Nintendo have a weird puzzle game called "Span Smasher" that uses it.

They did say the next Zelda game (due 2010/2011) is likely to be MotionPlus only (probably due to the sword fighting etc)....and there were heavy hints that No More Heroes 2 will be using it as well.

I remember reading EA said motion plus was 'too sensitive' so for Grand Slam Tennis it's not true 1:1 motion, they opted for 'almost' 1:1 motion.

I strongly believe the device is capable of 1:1 just EA haven't had the experience or expertise to make 1:1 motion tennis game.

I think wii sports resort will be the one that shows off the device the best.

Much like Nintendo used Wii fit to show off the capabilities of the balance board.

Oh yeah I've got Grand Slam tennis and enjoy it with WM+, initially disappointed its not 100% accurate with my movement but close enough to have many hours of fun and hell its better than wii sports tennis by a mile.

The silicon jacket comes with all wii motion pluses. It is part of the package. Therefore this is the better deal as there is the possibility of getting quidco and club card points.

I am plyaing Tiger Woods 10 with motion plus and it is excellent. I normally do not like these games but the 1:1 is pretty exact to me and this makes the game the best golf game I have ever played.
#36
Grand slam tennis, not perfect!!! Sometimes they record a slice when I do a back hand top spin shot...
#37
For all people who use a third party wireless nunchuk attachment, please note the wii motion plus is incompatible with them unless you make some hardware modifications.

Even though the WM+ has a pass-thru nunchuk slot the wireless nunchuk dongle is prevented from being plugged in by the two prongs at the bottom of the WM+. It is possible to attach the dongle if you shave off the prongs and further shave flat the top of the dongle to enable it to sit flush with the bottom face of the WM+.

Another cosmetic problem is that the WM+ pass-thru nunchuk socket is not centred on its bottom face so if you do manage to plug your wireless dongle in it will attach off-centre and the back edge would jut out.

Too right! I'm also annoyed that my orginal GameBoy didn't have 2 colour touch-screens and a camera. Why can't Nintendo just develop all that future holds right now and sell it to us in one bargain-priced product?
#39
Anyone know if this is available instore at tesco for a similar price?
