These are the 'official' clearance outlets for Argos? They have these on their Ebay shop as £16.99 but advertised as refurbs (£22.99 for Wii-play, also refurbs). Are the ones available in the clearance shop refurbs as well? I would imagine they are, correct me if I'm wrong but I can't see one of Argos's in-demand items like these being sold brand new for this price in their clearance outlet.

Most probably Refurbs still with 12 MONTH GUARANTEE. Cash convertors do these for £20 not sure if they give a GUARANTEE. Still for that price 4 Player Mario Kart :)

I bought one of the Play packs off ebay. Was brand new in the box, just had the seal broken.

Warning to all who use these guys, they maybe Argos, but there customer service is shocking. I have ordered 3 of these through there ebay name which happens to be the same, and I have 3 remotes in total for them 2 for myself 1 for a friend in which all have developed faults. You try emailing them they don't reply until you start to threaten with trading standards and paypal claims. I have had two replacement remotes so far I am in the 3rd return now, posted yesterday but they hardly reply to emails and always try and get away with it. To me instore would be the obvious option, but I'd rather buy 2nd hand or off a decent supplier argos/Clearance are mostly faulty returns.

Be warned you may have to do two or three trips before being satisfied.

1 & 2 developed IR errors sticking and bouncing in corners (No I wasn't using them in broad daylight curtains closed nothing interfering. They came from the same batch no.)

3rd motion sensor has completly failed. (Rubbish for most games especially if you want to play Mario Kart the true way not the easy cop out way.)

Hope this helps someone.

I bought a HD camcorder off them a few months ago, the camera arrived late and the customer service was shocking, It took 3 days for them to reply via email only.

Although I got a good price for the camera im not sure it was worth the hassle!

Based on that, COLD sorry!

With nunchucks attached, means you can steer with the jostick rather then motion sensor.

Ah, I see. Thanks (repped)

I use the wheel - guess this is OK then?

Sorry OP - off topic for a second.

Your okay in my book. LOL Wheels with the motion sensor. But to some people prefer with a controller.

I think for this reason the title should have been changed to tell people they are refurbs.

Does anyone know what time the store (stanley) closes?

Yeh I guessed there refurbs, but the sell them as new on ebay. Either way I wouldn't buy unless your expecting to go back in within a couple of weeks with a fault.

I bought 3 of these from their ebay site just before xmas and have had no faults at all with them. None of them looked new either and had signs of usage like stained lanyards etc.

Yes we have a Bargain clearance centre local and most of the things they sell are returns, faulty or parts missing. I have never had a problem when taking things back though and believe me most things i have purchased have had to go back. On several ocasions i have had items changed 4 or 5 times and in the end had to have a refund simply because every one has been faulty.I try to avoid now unless it really is a bargain price.

Went to the Corby depot today (as I was in the area), but couldn't find the Wii Remotes. Did get some good cheap hair clippers though :)

Cracking deal. The Guitar hero World Tour requires FOUR controllers. One for each instrument. Will pick up a couple. Thanks !

I bought a Canon DSLR from their internet store, brand new. First one had an fault but got it exchanged. Service was **** initially until I finally got hold of a real persons email address. I even drove to Corby as I had a meeting near by but their internet store refuse to answer the doors in person! Wasn't happy with that.

When I did eventually get through they exchanged it no worried and it's been fine. Based on that I bought a refurb WII + Sports and an extra controller before Christmas, yes the box was a little tatty but it's got 12 months warranty and been OK so far, touch wood!
