These should - and I'm an owner - be sub-£100 by now. Only thing we use it for is Star Fox (underrated in my opinion) and Youtube. Still, at least Zelda is (possibly) 'around the corner'.

I'm also "an owner" and me and my lad use ours for a number of really well polished games. I'd say we've had more than our money's worth out of it. Spent a couple of hours on tropical freeze only yesterday. My advice.. Get this, Mario world and donkey kong and you're set for hours of fun and zero regret for the money handed over.

Does £149 for a USED Wii U still count as a good deal in 2016? Especially with NX on the horizon, and the PS4/XBox1 costing about the same...?

I bought a Wii U from release and don't regret it. It's a great little console with some fantastic games, and I'll never get round to finishing all the games I have.

The gamepad is great for offscreen play when the wife's watching some boring reality TV. It's not the most comfortable controller but nowhere near as bad as some people make out.

Shame it didn't take off and is being retired early. Just hope they keep online running so that I can continue playing online. You can't beat Wiimote controls for Call of Duty either, will be difficult to go back to Dual Analogue.

The prices did drop really low in 2014, but no one bought it anyway. May as well make as much money as possible & increase the price if lowering the price makes no difference to sales.

I wouldn't use them again either! Have ordered 4 supposedly new games from them in the past NONE were sealed and 2 of the ps4 discs were scratched and plainly secondhand. Though voted hot for your deal op as this item is secondhand.

you're not a shareholder in Nintendo though. Nintendo has a different philosophy to Sony or MS.

Except that tablet controller sucks Donkey Kong's coconuts.
It really does, hence why I just sold my Wii U after only 4 months despite always liking Nintendo games.could never get used to that huge, useless tablet controller with annoying, distracting screen in front of me,instead of a real straighforward comfortable, standard controller.

Beat me to it! It's madness, and I say that as a Wii U owner...

Still a fantastic console with many decent games, just needs to be at the £100 mark.

This is a ridiculous comment. They have Wii U pro controllers for actual gaming; which in my opinion is one of the best controllers out there. The main offscreen play is the best part when you have more than 1 child as they can still play while the TV is used for another purpose. The Wii U has always been the most used console in my house since we've had it.

What's wrong with Grainger Games?

They send European imported games instead of UK (with no mention in product description), this means no trade in. I've also had games from them in the past which were new but the case has been opened and disk obviously used. When trying to contact them they don't get back to you until you send multiple emails, messages through the site and even Facebook messages. They just hope you'll get fed up and leave them alone.

As I said, it's at your own risk but I would avoid this lot, big time.

Same as myself. Owner from day one and until not that long ago had more games running at 60fps full HD than the ps4 or xbox one. My favourite console ever to be honest, ridiculous how underrated it is.

Take off the '1' at the start and I might consider one. £149 is a p*ss take.

I shouldn't have bothered with my ISA or p2p lending, should have bought up all the £99 Wii u from tesco a couple of years ago instead

I own all 3, and personally I think there are more quality games on the wii u than either of the other 2.
And before anyone says 'but they're all old ideas', 'remakes', etc etc, the top selling games on the other 2 are normally sequels, latest installments etc, such as fifa, cod et al.
There may not be as vast a library on wii u, but if you want quality over quantity, I think £150 is a steal for the enjoyment you'll get.

The deal isn't that great anyway, got one years ago with mk8, smash bros, Nintendo land, wii u party plus extra wii mote - £184.99. Still feel that was a bargain. From argos I think.

I paid £250 for mine ages ago, most f in n console I've had I reckon. Pity about the lack of games for it but there some decent ones. I like to play most games on the small screen and stick something on the TV. Football or some stand up comedy or whatever

Just wait a couple of months, Nintendo are taking last order and stopping production of Wii U. The console will be this price brand new around Christmas

Depends how you look at it, people are happy to pay £50 for an old NES with 30 games built in with no option for more. An Xbox one S doesn't have Mario Kart, Zelda, Mario, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Splatoon etc to name a few. So for £149.99 it's still quite good.

We love ours!! Three daughters from 4 to 12 years old. Netflix can be watched on tv or the tablet. Which is great for the kids and me also.

Gaming wise can't fault it Nintendo land, captain toad stool and mazza kart are our favourites.

My point had nothing to do with the quality of the 8-10 good games on the Wii U you can't get on other consoles. My point is that £150 for a USED Wii U at this stage is ridiculous. The fact that Nintendo haven't implemented any price reduction for years on these is a slap in the face for their fans really. People are paying £199.99 for an Xbox One S + a brand new £40 value game, and nintendo are still asking for the same money for a Wii U with a game - Mental.

I didn't actually vote cold on this deal because fair play if this is actually the cheapest you can get one, then it should be voted up on this site. But I think it's fair to criticise Nintendo for their pricing on these.

The game prices are still very high, too. Only the 'Select' games are reasonably priced.

Dont forget that you'll also probably want to buy an SD card for it, too. 32GB aint nothing.

That said, if you do want a Wii U, this is sadly a pretty good deal. Used prices are kinda ridiculous at the moment as well.

I've largely given up on Nintendo because I think their products are consistently low value compared to the competition.

Voted hot as this is surprisingly the best deal around. I can't believe that at this stage a basic second hand Wii U costs this much yet a new Xbox S costs a fraction more.

Again my point is that it's worth what people will pay for it. People will pay £149.99 for the pleasure of playing the said games as they can't be played on any other console (PS4/XBOX ONE). The price for anything is measured on what someone will pay for it not how it compares to another item. Nintendo know they offer nostalgia for many gamers who will happily pay more for the privilege. Xbox and Playstation offer nothing other than maybe Final Fantasy 7 as a nostalgia for me. I personally have just bought the Xbox One S mainly as I needed a new Blu ray/4k player which would cost close to the cost of the console alone. If I was not in need of this I would definitely not of bought it. However if I didn't have a Wii U already I would almost certainly buy one for this price as for me is a bargain for what the console is. This is ultimately a handheld console, a family console, an active console (Wiimote games), Nostalgia console all in one and has enough great games to keep your average family happy for years. If you're a Hardcore gamer then obviously this will not be for you.

We should be seeing better deals for Wii U in the coming months now that retailers can no longer order new shipments after October.
