    Terrible.

I've even gone and pre ordered Super Mario 3D World from Gameseek now for £34.

    I'm not spending anymore!

Put a trailer of Super Mario Bros U and Super Mario 3D World on the TV to see what it was like, my 4 year old son went absolutely metal. He was shouting jump at the tv, he thinks it's fantastic. Think i've made the right choice, going to enjoy watching him get into Mario games like i did with the NES.

Specific games require a Wii Remote Plus (or the Motion+ attachment) to play, but it is not mandatory. A regular Wii Remote is fine for most all Wii games and you'll be able to navigate the Wii U's 'Wii Mode' menu with it just fine. Unless you wan't to play specific games with it, you don't need a Wii Remote Plus.

Yes, all your old Wii accessories, including all your Wii Remote's and Motion+ attachment, will work just fine on the Wii U!

Ah balls, i gave in anyway. Ordered.

I think i'm going to cancel my PS4 preorder, more i think about it the less i want the games at launch. Figure my son will get more enjoyment out of the Wii U with me also.

Good price - would have placed an order for an item I clearly don't need if I wasn't satisfied about a few things:

TCB's rate (is it electronics or a gadget?) or quidco's reliability?
Shop. To's reputation - 415 is a low number of transactions for a seemingly (by their website) large e-retailer
Lack of statutory info on Shop. To's website (it was tucked away on the info pages, but it didn't fill me with confidence, the way it was presented/hidden).
Nintendo's insane reluctance to deny its increasingly valued customers the basic right to BUY MORE CONTROLLERS!!!!!!!! Why design a state-of-the-art controller and beat your competitors to market but then score a silly own goal? I would expect them to sell these controllers with small margins to stimulate console and games sales, but to not sell them at all is ridiculous - how many sibling arguments will it cause over Christmas when one kid has the fancy controller and the other is stuck with the Mega Drive-esque input device?

Exceptional deal, voted hot, but not suitable for me for the above reasons. I'm almost sad, because it would have been nice to get some next gen gaming in before 2014/2015.

Remember, you can still play Gamecube games on your Wii (assuming you have the older version).....the one thing you can't do on the Wii U. If you think you might want a blast of Mario Sunshine some time in the future, then hang onto it.

I have a feeling the Wii U might do a late surge you know - there are a lot of non-gamer parents out there who are hesitant about bringing XBOX/PS into the house while the kids are young and, judging by what I am hearing at school and work, a hell of a lot of people are planning to buy a Wii U this Xmas. The masses feel more comfortable with Nintendo's family image and the gamers (many of whom are now parents who don't have time for dedicated hardcore gaming anymore) realise they can still have a pretty good gaming experience and play most of the current crop of adult games (ok apart from FIFA 2014 - bothered?) without having to fork out (yet) for an Xbox One or PS4. Many, such as myself, may decide to get a Wii U this Christmas to keep everyone happy and leave the Xbox/PS until the kids are a bit older. Especially at this price point.

Well anyway, I've bought some original Nintendo motion controllers and nunchucks, so I can play WII Sports Resort and the cheapest I could find are here:

    nunchuck

I hear all these bad stories about the Wii U and see everyone saying how poor it is. But TBH at least it has games. The two other consoles hardly have any new releases after the 2 or 3 launch games until like February! Plus I have a gaming PC so I don't even think ill bother with them.

I dunno - the negative stuff gets a lot of attention, because its salacious and dramatic. But I read far far more posts from people who like/love it. There are zero people in this thread who have one previously who say they don't like it for example.

    EDIT.

As J points out, the things people used to moan about have been largely addressed. The OS is no longer slow and there are now a stack of exclusive and 3rd party games with wii u features to own.

Play CoD Ghosts online on Wii U with no online charges like the other consoles.

As a big fan of PC gaming, I would say that the Wii U complements it beautifully. Also my X360 has been mostly dusty and unused since I got the Wii U, so I think it competes in the console arena quite well too. Go on, you know you want one!

That would be incredible, and I could imagine Steam and Nintendo existing in a close business relationship relatively comfortably - as long as it was just around third party titles. If cross buy came at a gentle premium, there could definitely be money to be made too. Would probably be a bit forward thinking though....

... and my wallet would probably finally collapse in on itself, forming some kind of financial singularity, and potentially destroying my relationship/ physical health!

Damn, like many others got the Zelda bundle few weeks ago as it was on offer for the same price, still not opened it yet, would have gone for this Mario bundle instead, as even though the Zelda bundle has the special edition game pad but the actual game is a digital download which I really don't like as it has no market value once it's downloaded, whereas this Mario bundle has both games on the same disc, which even though it maybe some bundled copy with no barcode etc it's still worth more than digital copy.

Do ShopTo still accept returns/exchange after three weeks?
  27. markh2001's avatar
It's a great price and I almost went for it but i'm getting both the xbox one and the PS4 which are coming out in a matter of weeks and I know they will keep me busy and my attention. May pick this up in the future when the system has more games to engage me. I know their are quite a lot but none interest me. Mario's are manufactured too quick and are not original like they used to be and as for wind waker remade, loved the game and still have it for gamecube. Very Hot though

I think Lego City is a good game on both Wii U and 3DS, so it's down to you really. It will be much bigger and elaborate on the wii u though and you can both enjoy it on the tv - it's a great laugh.

Yes, all your Wii games work on the Wii U. You transfer all your data like game saves and download games over to the Wii U from your Wii with an SD card. You can even play Wii games on the Wii U GamePad screen as if it were a portable mini TV.

To be fair I cannot remember a single Amazon black Friday that was anything other than a crushing disappointment. It's great if you want 40% off a Stargate box set. The odds of a Wii U deal that beats this are microscopic.

This bundle sold out in all major retailers in the States last week. Savvy consumers know a good deal when they see it.

Those who don't grab it now might have problems finding it in a week or two. The Game store I bought mine from last week told me they had received only 4 units and while I was there somebody else bought another. You have been warned!
