If u take the games price away the WiiU would cost around £146

If you do the Smash Bros deal for 169.99 the WiiU ends up being around £135

I say do the smash deal, and pick up New Super Mario Bros from shopto for 13

Has anyone else noticed how wii games look worse on the wii u in wii mode?, especially wii sports. I had my original wii connected using component cables the ones with 5 coloured plugs and the picture was excellent, now using hdmi cable on the wii u and it is worse graphics and I'm using the same Panasonic 1080p tv. Wii u games graphics are excellent as expected, just can not understand why in wii mode there worse than the original wii.

You keep posting this exact same message in every Wii U thread... the heck are you doing? Just plug the component leads from the Wii in to the Wii U and have done with it.

Are you saying if you plugged a component cable into the Wii U, it would look exactly the same as playing Wii games on the Wii itself? :)

I'm hoping to come across someone who knows a fix, have tried component cables and it's know better.

It is if you only ever used the cables supplied with the wii, but I used component cables with my wii the ones with 5 leads, that way you could set your wii to display in 480p or even 576i, it made the graphics really sharp, what I can not understand is the wii u uses a hdmi cable so why when in wii mode does it not atempt to display in at least 480p as the original wii was capable of.
This is the cable I used on my wii http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Official-Component-Video-Cable/dp/B000JJRV90/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1418952669&sr=8-3&keywords=wii+component+cable

I compared Mario Galaxy played on the Wii (component) vs the Wii U (hdmi) with both running at the same time connected to the same TV & flicking from one input to the other I couldn't see any noticeable difference.
