I don't know why I let myself get sucked in by the trolls but. Can't. Resist. Responding.

Some "facts":

1. Yes, the Wii U has been a disappointment
2. No, that does not mean it is rubbish
3. There are some of the finest games of this generation on the platform (Mario 3D World, Mario Kart, etc)
4. Nintendo can go posting losses like they have for years and years and still be financially sound
5. Future of Wii U is debatable but the value for the machine along with some of the premium titles is exceptional
6. Fantastic for all ages - some of the Mario Kart sessions Ive had with my 5 year old lad have been epic!

Liking Wii U is like supporting a lower league fitba team (like Falkirk FC...). Yes, there are "better" teams around with better players but there is something magical about the team you support that you enjoy and are happy to put up with. You know you're team will never be the best in the land but you also know you'll unearth a few talents or sign up some gems (Russell Latapy springs to mind...) and every now and again you'll pump one of those "top" teams silly 4 or 5 nil. Well, it's how I view it anyway!!!

I don't see how this is a deal, it was £200-220 for two games a few weeks ago. Just because it is the cheapest available does not make it a deal! I wish more people understood this!

Eh?

Of course if it is the best price currently available it is a deal, because it is THE BEST PRICE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

Mario kart free game promotion its over, they dropped the price tag because of this. So its just the same price compare with the old bundle, pay more extra game. Now its just pay less no extra game

Heat from me. Most of the other bundles are still at £249/239. Nice work.

Going to give it a week or two to see what other retailers do though.

Hot from me. You can pick up a load of WiiU games for cheap anyway.

WoW, I was having this conversation yesterday with a Friend. I said "I bet they drop the Wii U Bundle by £30 tomorrow when the Mario Kart offer expires". Looks like I was right (or maybe lucky).

Good price, and yet, I'm waiting.... For me the Wii-U needs to be sub £200 (also I feel the games can be very expensive).

Sainsburys have been systematically dropping Nintendo online and instore for quite some time now. It's more likely they're just clearing out tbh.

Its been £180 with 1 or 2 games loads of times, it's guaranteed to hit that price again soon, particularly with the Mario Kart free game offer ending and Nintendo posting another loss for the quarter.

I just bought the MK8 bundle for my lad's birthday and downloaded Zelda WW, great fun.
I'm a big PS fan and I actually think the U is far superior. I played a friends PS4 the other day as I was planning on buying one, not impressed, nice graphics but didn't blow me away as the PS3 did when that first came out.
As another person stated, there are quite a few cheap games out there. I picked up zombiU, mass effect 3, batman and cod ghosts all for around £30 from eBay, new and secondhand.
All in all, I think that the U will make a resurgence as it is very much under estimated and at over £100 cheaper than the big boys plus much more child friendly, positively a bargain.

Only thing is the Mario kart promotion finished Yesterday =!

I think the Wii U is fantastic, totally underrated. Just wish they would bring more games out for it. A new Paper Mario would be unreal!

Good price but I'm still waiting for it to drop further. There's only 5 games I'm interested in for the Wii U so it wouldn't make sense to pay much for the console.

I got my Mario Kart bundle last week from Argos with my sister in laws staff discount. They were also throwing in 2 free games mass effect and Fifa 13.

Not use if the deal is still on.

Didn't say they were any better, but Wii U is hot even if it's a tenner off, reality is the machine is too expensive, if it was sub £200 as an RRP, would sell like hotcakes.

No third party support & too expensive = new Dreamcast.

You're still going to pay £30 or more for mario kart 8, which makes this console £180. The cheapest it's been (that ive seen) is £180 with 2 games that are worth about £10 in total. This is great value and i honestly don't think you will get a premium console with mario kart 8 much less then this in the near-mid future. Once you find a good console like this you tend to find good deals on the extras such as controllers/games. So nit-picking at £10 here and there isn't really worth it.

If it was that popular & awesome, why are Nintendo still posting losses? Also, why won't any third party developers touch it with a barge pole.

Summed up best by Ubisoft just after E3. They have had a Wii U game completed for over six months, but won't spend the marketing & release budget on it, until there is a larger user base.

This exact premium bundle with mario kart 8 has been £250 almost everywhere since it's release. Taking off the price mario kart of the bundle makes it £180 which is a fair price. Probably the best premium offer right now.

Great price, wish Sega would make a Monkey Ball like the gamecube version for it though.

I also wish the old Rare team would get back together and make Banjo or DK or Conkers but thats just wishful thinking.

Yes, right now! A few weeks ago this exact premium bundle was available for sale much cheaper not at £250 but around the £200 mark, taking off the two games you got the premium console was available for £140. Which is why I don't see this as a deal.

I got one 2 weeks ago for £110 of tesco vouchers (with mario kart and zelda). Not too bothered if you perceive its value differently but I'm pretty confident we will see this start to drop in price over the next quarter. £180 with Mario Kart is very likely in my opinion.

The reason why the Wii U didn't sell, where Nintendo did put up their hands and admit its their fault, was due to lack of properly marketing the Wii U to the masses out there. People thought its just the gamepad being sold as an add on to the Wii.

Nintendo have an abundance amount of money that they have accumulated over the years, especially with the Wii and DS sales, and with the kind of losses they're reporting the last few years any other other company would have caved in. With the Wii U they've admitted that they making a loss with every unit.

I remember reading online somewhere that Sony are mostly relying on the console part of their company to help keep them afloat. But its surprising neither Sony/Microsoft aren't openly talking about about (not that I can remember reading of) how much profit/loss they've made with the PS4/XB1 to date...

I honestly thought Wii U was a handheld console at first. I never looked into it, and just seen a picture of a handheld so just presumed it was a handheld. I bet there is millions of other people who probably thought/think the same. It's probably bad marketing having the controller the centre of attention, as it may mislead those who don't look into it. So your point is well made.

In a way I don't have to justify the purchase of it, because the games available and coming out over the next couple of years speak for themselves to why a Wii U is worth a purchase. Yes people have their own opinions to the Wii U but it will be better opinionated on when the Wii U has been played by those people before making comments.

I think the PS4/XB1 is overpriced at the moment hence why I haven't bought either of them, but I wouldn't go around calling them pieces of junk, because they're good for their exclusive games like the Wii U is. There are quite a few people who think along the same lines and have invested in a Wii U as perfect partner to their gaming pc rigs.

I used to own a 360 with 50+ games, I sold the entire collection off because nearly all the games were either fps or third person types, but I bought them thanks to HUKD...then I realised that when you've played one, you've played them all...because when I owned a PS3 (which I sold off for a 360 due to not liking the dualshock when playing fps games), a 360 and a Wii (my first ever Nintendo console owned) at the same time, I played games like Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin etc on the Wii more because I had a more enjoyable time playing them due to them being varied types of games. So far on the PS4/XB1 its been the same FPS+Third Person types of games.

So for me its not a case of liking the Wii U like a fanboy, which I can guarantee you I'm not, as my first proper console was a PS1, then a PS2, PS3, Wii, 360 and now a Wii U. I wasn't going to buy a Wii U until last November on here guys were justifying why its a good console to buy regardless of what it's position is in the gaming market. I bought the Mario Luigi Bros. U bundle for £199 and don't regret it one bit because i'm enjoying my time with it as compared to my enjoyment level when I had the 360.

The Wii U is under-powered compared to the PS4/XB1, but Nintendo never intended to compete against them with the Wii U. Its more of a in-between the PS3/360 & PS4/XB1. Its been tested that the Wii U is that bit more powerful than the PS3/360.
