The Wii Zapper is a devise that houses both the motion-sensitive Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers in a single unit for precision targeting. It comes packed with the game 'Link's Crossbow Training'. The software is based on the hugely popular 'Legend of Zelda' series and provides a perfect demonstration of the way the Wii Zapper could be used in other games.
The Wii Zapper combines the Wii's remarkable controllers into one housing with a classic style reminiscent of arcade-style games. Both veteran and first-time players will find it brings a whole new dimension to games where targeting is key and provides even more exciting game-play experiences.
'Link's Crossbow Training' drops players into a world in the style of 'The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess'. Players assume the identity of hero Link, who progresses through a series of tests to perfect his crossbow marksmanship. Start with stationary bull's-eyes and graduate to moving targets before defending Link against all kinds of enemies.

I just ordered one but despite saying that they are in stock, when I check the order status it says:

Product Details / Item Status
Nintendo Wii Accessory - Wii Zapper / Item to be ordered from supplier
#2
HMV are in the same league as Mark and Spencer for ordering reliability...I ordred one but really don't expect to see it.
#3
Does it come with crossbow training????
#4

I had a PSP title "on order from supplier" with HMV for almost a year. I eventually have up hope & cancelled.

BFN,

fp.

EDIT: To be fair, is was a title that had not been released when I ordered, but even still, a year is a little excessive.

Yes it does. Great price. Just ordered it. Lets see if it turns up ;-)

My order says it's available and is awaiting shipment

Does anyone know if the wiimote with the jacket fits in the crossbow?
#10
HMV have proved pretty poor for me. They advertised WII Play as available a few days before christmas and guaranteed delivery before the big day if Royal Mail special delivery (£5) was specified. On that deal someone posted that HMV were not very reliable and that we would be lucky to get them in time. It did not arrive at all - I cancelled the order on 3rd January after finding a copy in my local Tescos.
The deal is hot but the retailer is not!

No chance.

It's a top loading slot-in with no free play whatsoever.
#12
Totally agree, if you do get it expect it to take about a week maybe 10 days to get to you. Slow dispatch, poor communications
#13
Picked one of these up at the weekend, and pretty disappointed with it to be honest. Good idea but the accuracy when playing the game leaves a lot to be desired. Great price though, as these are hard to get hold of at RRP nevermind a few pounds under.

Good re-sale value though looking at some threads here, for example.

I've ordered two in the hope they'll arrive before "Ghost Squad" for the Wii is released :)

Heat added. Thanks.

Do they have these in store at HMV?? Also what games work with this??? Could I play medal of honour?? :O)
#16
I managed to pick one up in HMV Portsmouth on saturday morning for £19.95. Zapper is quite well designed. Links Crossbow training doesnt have much depth but is a decent introduction to using the Zapper. Should make Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles more fun though.
#17
Gamestation in Basingstoke have these in stock, they keep them behind the counter because the boxes are quite big. it's £19.99 which is retail but well worth the money as the game that comes with it is excellent!
#18
Release date: 7-12-2007 - despatched within 21 days

Pretty vague!
#19
@ ftpdoo: Its in store in MK, about 7 left. You can play ANY game with it if you want, though not recommended. For CoD3 for example you do better without, especially during fights, driving, rowing. For Metroid Prime its the same (grappling, pulling, turning locks).

I would think the "best" games to play with the zapper are Links Crossbow Training and Umbrella Chronicles.

My order status reports:
"Your order is now available and is awaiting shipment"

My PS3 gaming may well be sidelined for "Resident Evil 4" [Wii Edition] & "Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles" after the Zappers have arrived :)

Cheers, 2nd attempt at ordering this; had previous order on Tesco.com Jersey cancelled before chritsmas due to no stock; hopefully will be luckier this time
#24
I wouldn't bother with this personally. You really need two hands to hold it which is fine except for games that need you to use the A button or the nunchuk.

I bought two unofficial hand guns where the remote slips in - more satisfying and cheaper

You couldnt really use this for RE4 I think it might be more hassle than its worth as its the original style of gameplay. Umbrella Chronicles on the other hand is pretty might designed for it.
Will try my luck and order one,

I ordered two Wii Zappers even though I wanted at least three for me & my three kids, but "Ghost Squad" is typically a two-player game, so I left the 'other' one for somebody else. I will not be listing either of them on eBay.

If, however, you wish to make me an offer for one of them, then go ahead :)

When I ordered this it was in stock, but now my order status says "Waiting on stock from supplier" so I've cancelled it.

After seeing this thread, ordered one this morning.

Had the confirmation email within 2 minutes and when I got home this evening, had received a further email confirming item had been shipped today with estimated 2-5 day delivery (I chose the free option)

Obviously now in the hands of Royal Mail but can't fault the service so far.
#35
Likewise - has been shipped :)

Wuhoo - mine has been shipped. Thanks OP!

Mine says 'awaiting special order from supplier' I doubt I'll get this! :-(

My 9 year old son who had been off school with a "really bad tummy ache" was cured within 10 minutes of playing with his new Zapper!:w00t:
