I have bought one of these cheapy non-Nintendo branded ones before and it has worked just fine.

Perhaps this is from an illegal-piratey company who have stolen the secret Nintendo recipe but … it's cheap!

If voting cold I'd appreciate some feedback please.

Well, I'm a little confused as to how this is going cold. I'd like to see anyone get this cheaper.

There's been a few concerns over these non-official controlers working after updates.

Just going by what was said in the other thread.

I think generally people consider an official controller on a discount to be a good deal, not a third party 'piratey' one as you say.

Thanks for the feedback Darkle - I wasn't aware of issues with updates so this is interesting (btw cool avatar!).

It's likely the Genuine Japanese versions.
They have less quality speaker and IR camera in them.

I once bought 2 at this kind of price off eBay and they were fake. I could tell by comparing it to one of my other wiimotes. The differences are fairly subtle on the outside (darker numbering and symbols, button bevel, etc) but when you open it up the difference is shocking, with the fakes being easily identifiable as they don't have half as much electronics, and what they do have is very poorly put together.

Looking at the seller's feedback I found a few comments such as "NOT official WII products"

I'd avoid like the plague. For starters it's a pile of cack. Secondly, it's illegal, and thirdly, the people profiting off these copies should be banged up.
