Product Description
The Minibug solitary bee house is a functioning wildlife habitat that Wildlife World has developed for children of all ages who have a growing interest in wildlife. The bee house is designed to be placed in the garden so that it attracts bees--which are essential pollinators for flowers, fruit and vegetables--for studying and learning. Junior entomologists--and future conservationists--can learn all about these insects by observing them in their habitat and completing the 16-page study and project book that comes with the product. As well as its educational benefits, the bee house also has a practical function. Bees are in decline across the United Kingdom and, by encouraging these beneficial insects into the garden, the bee house can help to boost their numbers and so increase plant pollination.
The Minibug solitary bee house is specifically designed to attract non-swarming bees, such as the Red Mason bee, which do not swarm, are gregarious and are not harmful to children or pets. These bees are naturally attracted to holes in wood and the Minibug solitary bee house, which is made from FSC-certified timber from renewable sources, provides them with a habitat that has become harder to find in modern gardens.

To further above comments, to save a few bob why not keep the money and hit bees with your shoe. Only kidding, I try not to kill bees, but wasps etc get whacked the second I lay eyes on them. Why would anybody want this, it could attract wasps. I guess the handy thing would be to let them nest then pour petrol on it and set it alight :p

Bees sound like a pretty dangerous pet for children.

Also go up to £7.04 now.

Keep the kids occupied? ....for about 2 seconds once they discover there are no bees, and unlikely to be any. Take the kids to the zoo/museum/park/cinema/swimming baths/anywhere instead.
