The word Cyanogen in the title should be enough to put people off.
Until Wileyfox guarantee that these phones will get an update to Android this is way too high a price for this phone.

The tech press are jumping on this reddit post. I wouldn't let future updates (or lack of) stop me buying a handset at this price point. I still think it's a bit early to write this company off. You can always update the ROM yourself. It's not that difficult (yes I know you shouldn't have to) and surely this phone is aimed at those who like to tinker?

I got an unexpected update on my swift this morning. wonder if it will be the last.

Probably the self destruct instruction for 31 December.

My partners Galaxy S4 is stuck on Kitkat as Samsung leave customers in the lurch on a regular basis so being left on version 6 doesn't seem too bad to me.

Well, I had already posted on this so not sure where that went.

The Swift 2 is £10 more, faster, better built, has NFC and a fingerprint scanner. That to me is a no brainer.

I had a Spark+ (same internals, smaller screen) that I got as a black Friday warehouse deal for like £63. At that price it's just dandy. But the MediaTek processor isn't great, and it feels like a cheap Chinese phone. It's probably the cheapest feeling phone I've ever had, Worse than a Moto G, worse than my Orange San Francisco, worse than my parents EE Rook. It just feels cheap.

At £63 I can live with it, at £110 when a Swift 2 is only another tenner I'd be seriously disappointed.

yeah my swift updated yesterday. had it 14 months & never missed a beat. agree with comment above though, if i was in the market I'd go for the swift 2 or plus.

Re: updates to OS, from here:

In light of the recent news from Cyanogen, every Wileyfox user's experience will remain unchanged - hooray!
This was expected and we are confident with the smooth transition planned in an upcoming over-the-air update for the entire Wileyfox product range that will migrate away from Cyanogen’s refocus strategy, and on to a purer Android experience – enhanced.
We strongly recommend that all current and future users accept the upcoming update request to ensure they are on-board for the future. This will include the ability to maintain the same experience as before and the added ability to partake in updates and upgrades to the software in the future.
We will continue to push this update to your device, and for new users we again recommend they download and install this update upon purchase.
We have been ruthlessly testing this and planning a distribution for this update, with a rollout to be released beginning today with immediate effect. Once this transition is implemented and users accept this upcoming update, our first order of business is to focus on delivering Android Nougat 7.0 across the portfolio beginning as early as February, and the entire portfolio by end of Q1 2017.
We value our customers above anything else, and therefore will now take full direct control on all such upgrades to ensure all devices, not just the flagship’s, will get these regular updates.
What this means is we at Wileyfox are still committed to continuous security and Android updates for the entire user base (old, current, and new), a bloatware free OS, deeply integrated value added services, and a promise to maintain a no **** attitude to the Wileyfox user experience.
We hope you had an amazing Wileyfoxmas. We look forward to 2017 and beyond, in a Wileyfox world of no ****!
Instructions to download and install your latest update:
1. Receive notification about available update (see image attached).
2. Press download to update.
3. A notification will pop up stating update is ready to install. Select install.

Edit: Apologies for the formatting, copy and paste appears to have removed any paragraphs.
