I wouldn't buy the 1st version of a product from a new company even if it's British. :-)

I find your lack of faith and patriotism disturbing.

Battery seems a tad small for the larger device, will be interesting to see how it performs.

Supposedly Cyanogen can deal with this much better, not being hampered by bloat ware and unnecessary background apps. Though as you say proof in the pudding

Ah yes, I was going to post this yesterday but I got lazy.

I'm waiting to see how early reviews go, the CPU is used in many under performing phones and isn't exactly the smoothest.
Other stats are great but if the CPU causes any sort of concern it could compromise the whole phone, that for me is a deal breaker because I can recharge my power hungry phone but I can't OC an already pretty warm chip.

WOW a lot of phone for the money

Not clear from deal:-
Swift supports 32GB microSD - See Swift full specs
Storm supports 128GB microSD - See Storm full specs

Seems heavily inspired by the OPO, in more ways than one (I have the 64GB OPO and love it, a few software snags aside). I've registered interest and look forward to seeing how it's received.

I don't know about cm they seem to support devices then drop them quickly. The one plus still getting 2 years support? as it has been around a year and now one plus are focused on oxygen os and cm has forgotten about the phone. The same happened with the oppo n1. They seem to support devices until they find something better and this is around a year or less.

I'm worried about the service you might get from WileyFox. They're brand new - untested - what if they fold up shop in 6 months time?

Anyone have any info into the company, backers, founders, team?

Also, WileyFox are offering these addons for a very modest price:

Three Year Warranty £9.99
Screen Replacement £9.99 (per year)

Everyone has to start from somewhere - not too long ago you could have said the same about OnePlus. The specs for the Storm put them in a good starting spot, and kinda make the comparable Moto X Play look a tad overpriced.

There are plenty of independent developers who will continue with CM updates - see XDA forum

The website says the processor for the Swift is only 1.2 GHz quad core, rather than 1.5 as it says above. Which is a pretty slow processor. Still, the other specs are good.

Incredible value. Very close specs to the X play for significantly less cost.

However that battery is fairly small for a 5.5" which worries me. Will need to see some benchmarks before I'd get this.

It definitely is modest, but perhaps they realise as the retailer they're liable for 2 years anyway. Fair play to them though, does looks a bargain.

The developers at CM and XDA are incredible, if one of them gets this phone and likes it I can see support for quite some time. Last week I upgraded my Touchpad to one of the newest more stable CM mods and it's like having a new tablet.

specs for the storm look good. A new phone sounds good.

The swift is what I am looking for, I wish the camera would be same as for storm 20MP, and the battery around 3000, my acer e700 with its 3500 last for a long time, not sure about 2500, waiting for reviews, cheers! Hot.

Should say roms but my phone is too fiddly for me. I'm now on CM11 KitKat and it's brilliant.

Storage isn't a deal breaker because it's expandable.

The Lenovo I linked is cheaper than the 5", 2GB ram, 16GB version of this phone. Its half the price of the 5.5" version, has a bigger battery and the only thing this phone which is twice the price beats it on is an extra 1GB of ram. The Lenovo is half the price and a much, much better buy.

This is going to be a rebadged China phone for sure in the same way that the Linx windows tablets are just relabelled Chinese devices and you can already get higher spec Chinese phones for less money than this.

It's not a bad deal but it's nothing great either.

I used to be a bit fan of Cyanogenmod, but recently their release strategy leaves a lot to be desired.

The latest "stable" release is an ancient CM11 M12 with many known security issues. For a while, you could get security updates via the experimental nightlies, but even that is stopping. So your only option now is bleeding edge CM12.1, if it is supported.

Which is a shame, because CM was for a long time the best way to get updates. But no more.

I can't say if it is a better buy or not, that is down to the individual. But there is more to consider than just the RAM as well.

Compared to the Storm, the Lenovo has 1GB less RAM, lower megapixel camera (not that higher megapixels always means better quality snaps, but worth thinking about and comparing both when the Wileyfox is out), less storage (as you say can expand with MicroSD), runs an older Android, and although faster CPU, it is a MTK. In contrast the Lenovo offers a larger battery.

Looks like a decent buy after the new Motorola's are a tad on the too expensive side. Probably would've gone for one if I hadn't just got a new phone.

Thanks for making me aware OP. I will keep an eye in how these do.

From what ive read it can't be rooted.

More trustworthy software than the Chinese ones who you will always worry are spying on you. Why am I telling you, you are obsessed with Chinese designed phones?

Can someone clarify something for me? I've always felt that memory size is important - even in phones that are expandable. Isn't it true that not everything can be moved to external SD cards? Basically I use mine for media storage.

I've just bought the new moto x play for only £217, which is only a bit more than is and is better in almost every way.

Where from?

I used the amazon link for the moto x play on the beat my price website by barclycard, then i recieved an offer of £255.98 (£15 reduction on the amazon price) then i used a quidco deal to gain 15% cashback, this then brings the total price down to £217. Here are some images of me buying it and receiving the cashback: https://imgur.com/qa0mgEF,My3f9ra#0

Great looking phone. Nice quirky design. Big screen. Wanna see it in action. Tempted if it runs well, camera is good and battery life is decent.
