Great value for money, good spec phones for a fraction of Samsung, HTC etc, plus british company.
Bought dad the 1st gen swift last year and wife the swift 2plus last week.

For anyone that knows, Is this android 5.0, or 6? I can't find it mentioned in reviews.

Do wileyfox have good reputation for support etc?

I really want to like this phone, but everything I've read points to the Moto G4 being a better buy. If this thing had a better screen and battery I'd be very, very tempted.

I believe its CyanogenMod 13.1, which is based on 6. Can't comment on support yet...

I've ordered 3 of these for my girls to use for Pokemon GO. Might not even get them SIM cards for now, and just tether to my phone... I almost went for the Moto G4, but two things swayed me:

1. This is dirt cheap.
2. The specs say it has an ecompass, which I'm hoping means a magnetometer.

Point 2 is not a deal breaker for me, but a bonus because the G4 definitely doesn't have one. Both have a gyroscope, I believe, and GPS obviously. The Swift 2 also has an NFC reader and fingerprint scanner, which the G4 does not. I'm fully expecting the screen to be poor but for the price, something has to go...

Screen spec seems ok, I think this is the something that had to go:- Qualcomm Snapdragon 430

there is always a G4 comparison but I only want a 5" screen, so I'm struggling to find something with smaller screen but decent specs. for the money, this doesn't look bad.

The only one I can think of is the LG Nexus 5x which I'm hoping goes on offer. Argos pulled it from their website earlier this week for some reason, hoping it was to put it on sale!

hello. it's still only rocking 2gb ram. I have a p8 lite and I just get frustrated with performance. The Zuk Z2 has the specs, but there seems to be some concerns over the software, although that could be the source (Banggood)

I have done, thanks :) I'm still trying to decide how much I can justify spending on a phone before I finally pull the trigger. I've been holding off until after tomorrow and Monday too so I can see if any really good deals crop up for something a bit higher spec.

I was interested until I realised its only a 720p screen... most others in that price range have full HD screens already.

No one SIM for internet only, other will fall back to 2G. So for example i have an EE + 3 SIM in my Swift 1.
If i use internet on my EE SIM, 3 SIM completely fails as 3 network does not run on 2G. I think sometimes it works... but very rarely.

Not impressed with Swift 1, reboots everyday randomly and pretty slow, but only paid £99 for it, so for the specs it beat anything else.

That's because they have a hardware fault that can cause a boot loop, so they have been withdrawn from sale and LG are refunding people that have already bought them.

Just unboxed, and yes the compass works. I think this is the only phone in this price bracket with a full array of sensors; gyro, compass, GPS, NFC, fingerprint, light, proximity.

Not expecting it to last long, but I'm going to have very happy kids at Christmas now.

i haven't pulled the trigger on this. I'd appreciate your thoughts on it? does it feel pretty sturdy? not too laggy? totally understand you have only just opened it!

Heat Op wavering over getting plus for £30 more with 32gb storage and 3gb ram as £150 for this is a great price

I unboxed, connected to wifi and installed Pokemon GO. Initial impression was that you could tell it wasn't a plastic body. Felt sturdy. Screen was responsive even through the protector.

My own mobile is an S7 Edge, so completely the other end of the scale. The difference in screen dynamic range and resolution was obvious. And apps clearly took longer to install and load. It's not a fast phone, but I didn't see any significant lag reading notifications or emails, or changing settings. But I didn't do any serious switching between apps or browsing. In all, I felt the different was easily in line with the price.

In summary, I'd say that if you're worried about lag then you should probably buy something faster, else it'll bug you when you notice it. I suspect this is not a miracle bargain. Just a good value lower performance phone.

thank you. really appreciate your response on this. it's always a difficult balance with android phones. you can seemingly get a lot for your money, but if it's something you use everyday, it might just be worth spending that little bit more.
