Links to both phones for Monday Swift 2 X and Spark X
#2
I voted hot due to the price and was leaning towards the Swift 2 X for my son but the reviews on Amazon appear to be shockingly bad

I thought the same but think the reviews are for ALL of the wileyfox range not just the Swift 2X

I've got to swift 2 plus and it's a really good phone. Running pretty much stock android. Comes with NFC and a compass which a few of the competitors don't include.

The Swift 2x gives a small size increase and a 1080p screen. Might upgrade on Monday, would prefer a slightly bigger screen.

The reviews are all the Swift's bunched together, I have the 2X, it is a great phone for the price and at £150 it is a steal.

The negative is the camera though, it is pretty bad.

Does that include the hard case and screen replacement ???
I'm debating whether to give the OH the swift 2 plus (which has been excellent over the last 6 months) and have the swift 2 x for myself
£149 for the swift 2 plus + hard case + screen replacement - today on AMZ
or
£149 for the swift 2 X + possibly hard case + screen replacement on monday
or
£149 for the swift 2 X + another £15 for the hard case who knows where ???
only trouble is if i wait til monday and theres no hard case included in a bundle then how does one buy the hard case as they're not listed anywhere......apart from the black one which isn't as nice as the orange one with the Swift 2 plus
decisions decisions.....

I have the 2x and I'm very pleased with it. Only negative from me is the headphone output level is a little low, I want my music LOUD! Also no usb OTG support so external headphone amplifier is not an option. Other than that I'm very pleased with it.

No 5ghz wifi..bumber

I love my swift 2. However Wileyfox cs is abysmal. Buy with caution.

OH has had the Swift 2 for a few months. Real good bang for your buck.

Could be wrong, but I wouldn't think the bundle would be included - certainly no mention of it in the email.

Sadly my Wileyfox stopped charging after two months and they refused to repair it without the imei number... they didn't respond to my emails. So do not buy from them, better out there with better customer service.

Why would you not give them the IMEI number?

Is an external OTG amplifier a thing ? I decided I didn't need otg on the swift 2 plus i bought as it had 32gb and I added a 128 microsd which works despite not being in the spec. Why do you need an external amplifier ? surely you can bluetooth it to something ??? Maybe I'm missing a trick...

To get the imei number I'd need to switch it on, to switch it on it'd need to be charged... course, it's also on the box, not sure where that is, and amazon sorted it properly. But in short don't buy a wileyfox

Oh OK I thought you were withholding it for some reason :)

The spark x has terrible reception.
I could hardly ever get a 4G signal and I live in a major city with very good 4G coverage, no problem with the phone before it (lumia 640xl) or the phone after it (idol 4) it went back after a week or so.

Oh you betcha it's a thing, the audio quest dragonfly to be specific. Yes Bluetooth is an option but sound quality is not the best and anyway I use Bose QC15s, can't afford to upgrade to QC35s just yet.

So you'll be using flac instead of mp3. I bet you don't use beats :-)

Out of interest, I too like my music loud from my phone headphones, does anyone have a good recommendation a mid price phone with good quality and loud sound from the headphones please?

I'm tempted to get the Spark X as my wife's phone broke this week and I'm going to give her this one.

Do we know what time these phones are going on sale tomorrow?

Phone manufacturers aren't going to make a uk spec, you will get the same version as the rest of Europe which will still include the volume limit.
#25
I have the 2 Plus which is great but, after the Amazon return time expired, I found a fault where audio playback of recorded videos was very poor. Upon emailing the Wileyfox support twice I received no response, not via their FB page. In short, it's a great phone as long as it all works so test thoroughly while you can still return hassle free to Amazon (2 weeks I believe). I had to return the first one due to a screen fault but that was no problem with Amazon. Beyond that though you are unlikely to have any luck with Wileyfox should a fault develop, so the gamble is yours.
In hindsight I would probably go for the similarly spec'ed Vodafone V8 as the warranty would actually be worth something.

The volume limit is a software limitation, easily removed with custom firmware or via rooting. There's certainly no reason why phone manufacturers cannot disable this for UK phones.

The Swift 2 X doesn't look that interesting, for a few quid more you could get a Snapdragon 820 phone with a much better camera.

Uh....
Take off the cover, and look at the big sticker perhaps under the battery?
Or did you peel that off because you would never need it?

You could always find your IMEI by opening your dialer and typing *#06# oh wait.... i did read the thread..... but you didn't say you had phone with an internal battery ... x yhz123456 was only trying to help. (nerd)

So is this the storm?. (thread is about swift and spark)
You never did mention what phone you had, nor if the battery was non removable. From what I see most of their phones have a removable battery and a sticker under the battery (or sometimes on it) that has the IMEI info. I have never met a GSM phone without some info on the device somewhere.

Check your sales receipt (purchased from amazon probably?) to see if it has the IMEI number printed on it. It is a digital world we live in now, that info should be there somewhere to find. I have never purchased a phone or electronics from Amazon (other than kindle) so not sure if they record the serial numbers. I do know that other places used to put the IMEI directly on the receipt.

USB ports are fairly robust too, but I find a lot of people bend the pins inside quite often, not saying it is a simple bent pin but a toothpick or needle to straight out the pin could fix the problem if that is it.

Can't see it listed yet. Does that mean more stuff will be added to the list as the day goes on?

Or did I just miss it?

Considering getting this (swift X) to replace my P8 lite. Very slow and battery is terrible. Is this gonna be much better?

Yep - they should be (robust) and no it wasn't in the Amazon email, my point is that Wileyfox shouldn't be quibling this, they should have jumped on this and fixed it, interestingly I did find the IMEI number today (on a registered device screen) but Amazon replaced it brilliantly (my device is a Swift). At the moment I am using an iPhone which I massively dislike as its only a 16gb, but I had it spare

Apparently this charging issue seems to be quite popular (looking on Twitter) which is a shame as otherwise its a great value device ...

Oh almost none of the Wileyfox phones have removable batteries, if you take a look at the page on the link you will see. Frustrating as I love a spare battery as well.
