Why on earth would anybody pay £220 for those specs? The Lenovo ZUK 2 would stomp this at £140.
Agree with this comment seems very overpriced. I just bought Moto G4 plus 64gb for £224 from Motorola which is much better spec for virtually the same price
Watch out in case you get 'ghost touch'. If you do, then demand an immediate refund - you're entitled to this under the 14 day 'cooling off' period, irrespective of whether the phone is faulty. Otherwise, you are entitled to a refund if the fault becomes apparent within 30 days from purchase. Between 30 days and 6 months from purchase you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund, and the retailer gets to choose. If the repair fails OR the replacement is also faulty, then you are entitled to a full refund of the purchase price.
Ghost touch when charging? as far as I'm aware they all do it especially on a turbo charger, not really a problem imo

No, not just when charging, randomly and frequently, to the point that the phone is now unusable.

I think they have gone to far with this. I have picked up the Swift 2 for my son at £119 from Amazon with the 1 years screen insurance. For that money I think it is a reasonable deal - but this is only a slight spec bump and £100 more.
I didn't know you could get screen insurance. Was this included in the price or did you have to pay extra. Is there an excess on it?
https://www.wileyfox.com/faqs
Only for 30 days after purchase though?

Looking at it again, I think it means that you have to buy the insurance within 30 days of purchase and it's valid for a year. I've smashed the screens on two phones (which supposedly had gorilla glass) so would have paid for this. I wish more companies did it - this is the only one I've ever heard of.

I ordered yesterday for pre 9am delivery, no only had it not arrived. They have no record of my order!!
robsteen5 sounds a little like you have given up hope getting your phone fault sorted out. you should still get that phone replaced or repaired by whoever you bought it from even if you intend to buy a new phone its under a year old be a handy backup phone or could be handed on to a family member.
I'm using a wileyfox swift now and it doesn't work properly after less than a year. Very laggy, power button problems. I emailed wileyfox and they said to contact Amazon. Looking for a replacement now.

Laughing at the fight above - it runs Android Pay! It's not that hard to grasp is it? I think this looks pretty good for the money - yet to see a better offering for the same price thats made by anyone I would trust. If I have to have buy a budget phone I'd rather put a few pennies into a UK company too. Seriously - what matches up? Moto G4 is equal really - better in some ways but worse in many. Was considering the OnePlus 3 but this is swaying me. It's not a flagship at £500-700, but at the end of the day, what do most people use their phones for? Music on headphones, browsing the net and using apps - this easily does all that, right?

I had the LG G3. I would not recommend it.

Very poor battery life.

Random reboots.

Screen death after 14 months.

had the lg g3 for 2 years, always worked fine for me!!

regardless of functionality the app will install, it just won't run due to 'custom os'

this isn't a custom OS - it's Cyanogen OS not CyanogenMod. This phone is not rooted and does not have an unlocked bootloader - it is no more a custom ROM than Samsung's or Lg's.

The previous Wileyfox phones won't work with Android Pay because they don't have NFC chips, and an NFC chip is the line of communication between the phone and the PoS.

Chinese imports often won't work with Android Pay for a variety of reasons, but chief among them is:

Lack of NFC
ROM isn't approved or running a secure bootloader
Device isn't intended for use in Europe.
Device simply isn't recognised by the Android Pay app.
regardless of functionality the app will install, it just won't run due to 'custom os'

swift doesn't work, cyan os

Of course on Swift it doesn't work. Thats because Swift does not have NFC! How would you expect to have android pay without NFC?

this question will just draw all the spec junkies out of the woodwork. Expect to hear things like 'Antutu' and 'the DooGee Manhattan has 1.5X more gigaflops than this'.
Genuine question as I don't tend to follow tech news too closely; what other phones are out there that are better than this, at the same or lesser price? Links would be appreciated...
this runs Cyanogenmod so will get the latest base OS and security updates really quickly. It will run great and will have minimal bloat. spec isn't the be all and end all. I'd rather have this than a cheap Huawei or some other phones with a heavy skin that probably won't get updated.
Terrible spec for a new model isn't it. I'd love to support UK companies trying to get off the ground but they need to do better than this to get British people behind them.
The older swift model is back down to £99.99 on Amazon.

Can you name any phones that match this at £50 or better phones at £90?

Edited By: jorock on Jun 29, 2016 01:07
specs are 3/4 years old, 1gb ram, 8gb rom...much better available at this price.
To be honest, I think the swift is still a better phone, than any of the sparks
It's more the price than the time.

Say this was £45.

Backup... Check
Upgrade from feature phone. Check.
Great for the people who don't rely on apps. Check

For the price this is an absolute waste though.

posted already but that was for the Amazon deal - may be worth just getting this added to that deal?

Ignore that - this page just links through to Amazon via the manufacturers site.

you had no issues with the storm? my "home" button light has started flickering today, the back arrow button no longer lights up
lianne21
Been looking at the storm but not sure about it yet.

had phone since launch absolutely outstanding phone for the money (storm) and my son has the swift can't get anything better for the price and the swift is £99 on Thursday..
as said, swift may well be £99 this Thursday, I recommend viewing their Facebook page to see other hands-on experiences, because I do like my storm even at £195

I got mine today. Mostly good impressions but battery life is noticeably worse than my 2 year old Moto G. Also the GPS is hopeless, it is nearly impossible to use as a sat nav as it keeps lagging and glitching and losing fix. I may well return it if I can't find a solution.
Has anyone received their Swift yet? First impressions?
If you preorder through Clove they'll throw in the screen protection for a year - worth a tenner - as an apology for the late shipping. However, I'd be tempted to wait for the 29th and see how much the new Nexus 5x is going to cost. My guess is £300 but it could be less, which would make it a contender. And it will run Marshmallow OS, which could make the Swift feel a bit dated?

Wileyfox look good - would like to see a review of the Storm - but they've already stumbled, before they even start shipping the things. Hardly bodes well.
Wiley tell me that shipping will not start before 30th September now. No direct sales channel and suggested I pre order through Amazon, e buyer etc.
I would have thought they would have had there own sales channel to be honest to maximise the revenue. Maybe they are just a virtual company and drop shipping from the far east.

"If you have any questions, complaints or comments about our Site or our Products, then please contact us:
•on [email address tbc] or
•via our contact centre [phone number tbc – not until mid-September]."

Suppose to be launch day today and nothing on the official web site or Twitter. Annoyed.
give them a call then... don't just sit there being annoyed.
let us all know the results.
although on amazon it says "This item is due to be released on September 30, 2015." so, not sure where you got your dates from.
Those that registered an interest got an email from Wileyfox stating that the Swift will be available to buy online from 22nd September. Website is still saying Register your interest.
