Sainsburys have 1 litre Kilner bottles for £1.99. This would be cheaper per ml of water stored.

Is the world not inundated with glass? How are you to keep children away from it?

Buy Grolsch at any big Tesco and enjoy a premium lager from my motherland at a lower price then these bottles. The Grolsch ones are green though.

Great for homemade cider........

Try This............
20L of apple juice, 11g cider yeast - Ferment for 2-3 weeks in a wine fermenter under airlock then bottle with a level teaspoon of sugar and leave for 3 weeks at around 18c to carbonate - Hey-presto, a decent cider around 5% abv.

Add 1kg of sugar to make it "TURBO" cider.8% abv

Better off waiting until the 450ml bottles of Grolsch Lager are on offer again at a 'stupermarket' and buying them. Makes for a really fun game with the kids to see which of them can drink the most before puking and/or passing out... lol

After reading the comments. Buy them or don't. The choice is yours.

If you can wait, Lidl and Aldi sell the brown version of these bottles sometimes - often on the cheap. we paid 99p per bottle - and they came with beer in them!!!!! We use them for homebrew

I wouldn't store anything in plastic bottles from a pound shop. I might get ill.

They are fine once thoroughly washed . If some other store sells them at big markup ,will they become any better ? No

Of course they can. Cheap plastic is a health hazard. I know what's best OK.

Every year aldi sell a variety of weissbier for £1.25 a bottle with the grolsch bottle tops.
You get half a litre of nice beer on top of the price of the bottle. Admittedly it wasn't on sale today :D
