Last deal posted over a month ago. This needs posting because it could potentially save someone at least £60 over the hottest deal today.

Get Windows 7 from £39.78 at Software4Students

You simply need to know someone who is at any level of education, whether it's a university student learning about genes or a year one kid learning about genies, you'll still get a massive discount, which I think people like around here.

Enter their name, and pop! You have windows 7 for a brilliant price:

PRODUCT LIST:

Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit - £39.78
Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit - £39.78

Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit - £59.22
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit - £59.22

You can also get Office 2010 for £38.95 here: http://www.software4students.co.uk/Microsoft_Office_2010_Professional_Plus-details.aspx

This is fully authorised by microsoft, as shown hereL
http://www.microsoft.com/uk/education/students/software4students/default.aspx

---------------

You can only get one copy of each product per student, so don't think you'll get away with ordering 1000 copies of Windows 7 and making a massive profit on ebay, unless you enter 1000 seperate students in (please don't).

See this simplified chart if you need to know which version you should buy:

Why on earth is this cold? It's insanely cheaper than the deal that is on the hottest deal of the day.

It was getting very cold, and I was curious as to why people were voting so when this deal is clearing OMZIN.

Because it's for students so has very limited appeal!

Excellent incentive to get people to use genuine versions of windows, RRP is far too high driving people towards Linux

To be fair, it's for students and parents of students from primary school upwards, and also for teachers so quite a lot of people qualify.

No it isn't, this is one copy that's for three. Depends on what people need and your suggestion that you merely need to know anyone in school to uni is not quite the same as wording on the microsoft page you linked to

The end user licensee must be a student in one of the registered schools or colleges.
#10
Well I can't use it because I am not a student so it's definitely cold from me, and I guess that's why other people are voting cold.

WRONG!

You should have said:

"You simply have to be someone who is at any level of education..."

Hot deal for students, cold for the rest of humanity.

OMG.

If you are a parent or guardian, you can still buy this.

And I'm sure you know a parent or guardian, they can buy it for you.

If you don't know anyone who's a parent or a guardian, wow.

1. Available to School, College, University students (Parents and Guardians can purchase on behalf of school students)!

Yeah...

You can buy it, but you can't use it. Read the EULA.
If you want to use software without a licence you can download it for free off any bit torrent site!

OMG!!!

If you are a student make sure you check to see if your uni has a better offer. When I did compsci at uni we got windows for free + other microsoft stuff.

I find it extremely annoying when people post a bargain then moan within minutes that its not getting the attention they think it deserves.

You are probably getting a lot of cold votes due to your stroppy sounding posts near the top of this page.

Agree. Same with the Home use Office 2010 - I got it that way from work for LESS than a tenner !
The whole thing, everything including Publisher.
#19
seems like cheating the system if you claim you are a student when you are not.
#20
Cold because I'm a student and get mutliple licenses of Windows OS 7 for free.

:p

Many government employees get it for 9 quid.

Many people who know pirates for less.

Http://www.ununtu.com - is faster - cheaper as its free - viruses are close to unheard of (I have not run a virus check in years) - and so its 99% of the software available for it is free too.

If you mainly use your PC for average word processing and net access using Firefox, or Opera, then there is a good chance you could use Ubuntu and not even notice any difference other than better speed.

Its only not very good if you try to play windows games using its emulator for running windows programs.

There's no point, because the license won't be valid if you don't qualify.

Download elsewhere if you want a cheap version.

we were all once a student ;)

Or if you're at university, ask if they have MSDN access.

i think you're looking for http://www.ubuntu.com, not some gambling site.

Well of course primary school kids aren't going to have a credit card... That's why anyone can buy it. HOT - Great deal, thanks.

If I get my son to buy this - would he have to be the one to register it? I'm confused as to how they know he's only using it...

This is true. I get all or most microsoft software for free from the MSDN academic alliance.

Sure, that's fine if you want to break the law.

It's a good deal for school age children; I bought a licence this way last year - it's on my daughter's laptop so that she can do her homework.

Heard pretty awful things about Vista ( Which I could've upgraded to for FREE BTW) so Why do I want this?

why do people say you can get it free from a bit torrent - idiots only - uncontrolled environment, you dont know what someone has done to the os - they could have added malware of any kind (eg virus, worms, trojans, spyware, etc) and switched off/deleted some elements of the os and you wouldnt know

getting free ms office is one thing but windows os free off a torrent site not in a million years (nb. im an IT / Telco consultant with 23 years exp, so heed my words)....for a £40 saving you people are insane.....a pirate could steal you personal info in the background and plunder your accounts in seconds without you knowing till its too late...its easier for them to do that than code a virus...with the right kit, its simple to do this wirelessly in a unsecured wifi environment, so this would be easier

Couldn't agree more. Even riskier than going out and leaving your 'windows' open 8)

Its been posted a 1000 times before so why hot, its been this price for age but the big question here is why is it that I bought this at launch and 6 months later wanted to sell it, so I put it up for sale on here and the Mods removed it for no reason and said that I couldn't sell it. Well Mods if I couldn't sell my copy how the hell is this allowed? because any Tom Dick or Harry can get this deal Kid or no Kid at least I was entitled to have the one I had and me selling it to someone that had Kids was no different than this. Do the Mods actually believe that this is no exploited by a load of people on this forum as theres no checks in place to stop the sale to any one.

This is cold as its been this price for ages.
