I got the smaller sized Zoostorm a couple of months back and it is really good. I've ditched the desktop PC and mostly use it this now. For the money, I think they are great.

Had a load of these, half had to be returned due to issues with webcam, battery, or not connecting to the Internet, problems always resolved and replacement sent , if u don't mind waiting a week or two for your replacement then go for it, just ordered another.
#14
Why is this listed in the category "Ebay UK Tests - DO NOT BID"? What is that?
#15
Oh didn;t notice that. Look's like a Refund imminent I suspect then. :)

Ordered one never realised the category doh. What will happen now ?

Ordered one of these a month or two back.

Had to send back......... faulty.

Haven't bothered with them again.

They say fully refurbished and checked.............not true.

Fine if you get one in full working order.

I bought this last week, typing this reply on it now.

The last two times it's been posted in the odd 'do not bid' Ebay category - not sure why? But mine arrived 3 days after ordering and although it's a refurb, there's not a mark on it.

I bought it as a replacement for my aspire one 8.9" Linux - which I sold the week before for the same price as I bought this one for. Very happy with the performance, starts up and connects to wifi quickly. The slightly bigger screen over the Aspire one is a huge plus.

Can't fault it so far - and if it's a proper refurb, maybe the problem has already been sorted.

Also bagged myself one of the Swordfish sleeve/4 gb memory sticks from Currys for £8.

Does it come with a case or cover or anything?

I bought this 10 days ago. Arrived last monday afternoon. It didn't even power up.
Returned Tuesday and awaiting refund.
It seems like you have a 50% chance of getting one that works.. and no doubt someone on this page will get the 'Refurbished' one I sent back.
Good Luck

i was tempted to buy one but after the reviews i am not sure so lets wait and see

Seems a bit of a lottery, still loving my little 8.9" one.
No problems with it at all - in fact D & J Henry LTD were excellent in sorting me out a reload disc.
Brilliant little travelling media player.

Once you send it back and you can't send it back to Argos Clearance ( you should as they are the vendor ) you have to send it to their repairer D&J Henry, it takes two weeks to get the refund.
I had to phone them a few times to find out when I was getting the refund, they didn't seem that bothered once they had my money.

I agree I think they just send the faulty one out to someone else.

Ebay customer service said normally you are required to send back to the vendor not a third party.

If they would fully check everything and then send out again it would be a good deal.

I personally wouldn't buy another item from Argos Clearance.

I'm glad that some have been lucky with their purchases and everything worked.

Please avoid, returned mine after a lot of trouble as it was faulty, took 2 months to get my money back. I can guarantee you guys that my returned notebook will be shipped to some one for this lower price.

I got a brand new one direct from Argos for my silver surfer of a mother and still going strong nearly a year later! She's not hassled me about one thing - even windows related!

I bought two of these in july - as christmas presents for my kids.

Absolutely perfect - the faults that people report are normally nothng more than setting or driver errors which, with a little bit of knowledge and access to the internet, can be easily resolved.

If the wireless won't work for instance - go to device manager, uninstall the device, restart the unit and it will reinstall and work fine. Lots of other little tips out there.

If it just wont start up then someone - an earlier purchaser - may have used it without first charging the battery and taken it below the point at which it can recharge.

Expired now but worth a punt if they reappear.

If the webcam won't work or the wireless card won't work etc perhaps there is a way for the customer to fix it themselves.
The company don't say may have some faults on item sold as seen, they say fully refurbished and working.

The company are supposed to describe the item they are selling accurately.

It's not up to the customer to be a repairman on an item just received.

You got one that was absolutely perfect so you think they are a reputable company, others got a faulty one and feel differently.

Where did you get the battery and how much - ta

3 hours is okay - but if a bigger capacity battery is availble at a decent price, I might be tempted.

While googling, I found this thread - it details the known faults and some solutions.

It states 3 hours battery life in the description.

Mine arrived today, typing on it now, absolutely faultless, all I had to do where apply some updates and turn on wifi.

I did in fact change the setings on both machines - hence the acquired knowledge.

Both machines were perfect and without fault. They needed the settings changed - It's akin to tuning your tv. Nothing more, nothing less.

Goodness me, people buy something and expect it to operate itself.

These items are a true bargain.

I promised not say as they were so good to me.
Top bunch of people.
Guess.

Got mine today also. So far seems perfectly fine. At first thought there was no battery but I didn't check the side of the power lead/cable cardboard area :D

Also turning on Wi-fi is simple but I can see impatient types thinking - it don;t work can't be arsed reading manual - send back etc.

For the price it was too good to pass up.

Mine arrived and was working fine this time, however I have just returned the 8.9 inch version I purchased in April as it no longer boots windows, just crashes and sticks on a black screen, being picked up tomorrow.
