This happens a lot with Maplin's deals

It looks interesting but with only wi-fi I don't see how they can claim it is a mobile internet device. Surely you would be better off to spend a bit more and get a second hand 8gig iPhone?

I wonder if this would run GPS software such as TomTom or Garmin (since it's Windows CE).

It will install TomTom meant for HTC phones but with no bluetooth support it cant run a GPS

Shame it doesn't have a sim card slot though?

Then it would be a phone, and that's the problem. Would you rather just access the web on your touchscreen phone or carry around a second device so you can have a slightly larger screen?

But how do you use it to access the web when you are out and about and not near a wi-fi hotspot? Can you use your phone to create a wifi hotspot?

You could use one of Three's Mi-Fi devices priced at £49.99.
