If you or anyone in the household is a student then check out this deal - http://www.software4students.co.uk/Microsoft_Windows_7_Ultimate_64_bit_Edition_Upgrade-details.aspx

I'm well aware of the various deals for students but what about those people who dont qualify and those who dont want an upgrade version. Im building a new PC and dont have a spare version of xp/vista around to upgrade from so this is a decent deal for me.

People voting this cold are silly, its a good deal for a retail ultimate copy.

You can get retail versions cheaply on eBay but be careful who you buy from of course.
I bought Win 7 Pro for about £73 delivered from a top rated seller and it was kosher; not much more than for an OEM version of Home Premium.

@Agharta
any chance of sharing with me what the sellers username is, I'm after a version of win 7 pro (64bit) at the moment

Just because the software4students version says "upgrade", does not mean that you can't use it to do a full install. Lots of forums telling you how to do it and its fine

If you're happy with the deal then that's great, i'm just making people aware that going down the software4students route can be far cheaper.

But it falls outside of the licence terms so whilst it will technically work it makes your copy no better then an illegal download that technically works.

Its makes it better than illegally downloading because at least im paying Microsoft some cash by buying it.

I'm sure you'll be going to heaven for being so rightious though

I just checked and they no longer trade on eBay. I'd look at current listings and see who looks kosher.

Please understand I'm not saying that I wouldn't personally use the upgrade method for a clean install but in the eyes of the law, the copy is no more legal then one downloaded from pirate bay. Morals don't come into it. If you want a full copy of 7 Ultimate and you are not a student(student deals tend to be upgrades anyway) this is the best deal around. Advising people to buy an upgarde kit for a new install you may as well advise people to get torrenting.

I was looking at this on Amazon (direct from Amazon) a few days ago for the same price (no cash back though).

I wouldn't touch the third party sellers on Amazon or Play after reading about counterfeits being sold.

Edit:
This is original release version as no mention of integrated SP1?
