If you have a product key cant you just download one?
#2
This could be very useful for someone - why the silent cold votes?
#3
This is useful for people who have laptops or Dell PCs without the installation disc - Dell charge £4.99 usually when ordering a PC to include this so it is hot deal!
#4
Be careful with this as I know XP has a different product key for OEM version to standard version. This may be different with Vista?
#5
What does this mean at the bottom of the checkout window?:

'The Windows Anytime Disc must match the current language and system type of the computer you want to upgrade'
#6
I already got Ultimate :(
#7
I used a copy of my brothers windows vista. It worked for a month. Then it asked for a product key. When i typed it in, it blacked out and i lost all the files i have stored in vista during these period. So unless you have a legitimate windows vista, PLEASE dont even try this:)

Don't buy a German copy if you have an English version on your PC?...anything like that I guess...languages must match

If you own a Dell, I believe you get a 1 year warranty. You just call them and ask for the product recovery disc. I phoned them immediately after I purchased my Dell laptop which came with no CDs and requested the product recovery disc and drivers and they sent someone over with the CDs the day after free of any charges.

I thought Windows Vista just the installation no product key was free, a free 30 day trial. Then the key is needed after that.

Just orderd mine voted hot nice find :-)
just wondering if it is a upgrade it should come with a product key ???

Windows Anytime Upgrade automatically takes you to the website where you can purchase the upgrade. When your online order is complete, you can click the Upgrade now button or you can follow the link that you received in an e-mail message.

When you click the button or follow the link, a software file is downloaded and installed on your computer. This file prepares your computer for the upgrade. It includes a product key and the software license for the upgrade edition of Windows Vista.

During the upgrade process, you may be instructed to insert a Windows Anytime Upgrade disc. Upgraded editions of Windows Vista are included on the Windows Anytime Upgrade disc. The software file that you download from Windows Anytime Upgrade determines the edition of Windows Vista that you can install from the disc.

Yes you can use any version of Vista for 30 days but then you'll need a key or it won't operate.

You don't need to include a key when installing.

No point in buying this if you don't have a key to use with it!

Probably, but that would be theft.
#29
Shops stickers would normally be OEM numbers, they won't work with this DVD.

Indeed I do :)

I think they would.

AFAIK, there are only two types of key, Volume Licence (VLK), and Retail.

These are retail DVDs, suitable for any vista install except VLK.
#32
the whole point of anytime is that it is an upgrade and not a clean install disk

if you need a cd and have a retail copy you can get a replacement or alternative format here for just a shipping charge. You just need a retail key like this to finish the process. If you can, erm, search and find one that is :)
#33
ahh, if it's only an upgrade than scrap that idea, just that my vista disk is damaged, i'll have to source a proper one from somewhere
#34
Upgrade dvds still can be used to install clean versions of vista.
#35
Vistas so bad MS should be paying YOU to take it away.
#36
Im sure that you can do a clean install from these dvds I had a acer anytime disk and did a clean install

Upgrade dvds still can be used to install clean versions of vista.

Indeed, since a "Windows Anytime Upgrade disc" is a 100% identical with a retail Windows Vista DVD.

What would happen if you were to say use a friends key?;-)
