#17
Think it could handle Spotify?
#18
Hot from me,way better than a pocket or ubi surfer that are almost £100 more.
#19
Quite tempted by this but not a fan of CE. Anyone know if it would be possible to put linux on this?
#20
what does MID mean?

(Mobile Internet Device)

but how does it work, is the internet built into it free or do you have to connect to wifi?

or do you have to stick a dongle into it to view the internet?

if this is free internet browsing - then its worth a go definately from me!!
#21
How much is a first gen iPhone these days?
#22

It has wifi built into it, so you have to connect to your own wifi network to get online
#28
could you treat this like a mini laptop? For example could I put movies and music on an SC card and play it through VLC or similar on the device?

Not very techy so thought i would ask here rather than buy it and make a mistake.
#29
Looks like a very good deal. Could probably use this as a satnav/advanced digital photo frame (depending on resolution), etc with a little bit of work..

Can't see why not.

Is it actually touch screen? The description says touch screen via pen. Can't complain at this price though
#31
I bought one of these yesterday, but returned it as wifi was poor range (3 meteres!)
anyway the replacement is the same, shame really as it works well and comes
with a usb adaptor to allow you to plug in pen drives etc , has built in word reader and photo viewer etc even watch youtube !
great price even better if you have the free discount vouchers ( i didnt but still got £5 off)

#33
yes if you have smallish fingers !

So it's pen operated then? Bit cheeky advertising it as "touch" screen in todays market! Cheap either way
#35
does windows CE work with flash or shockwave sites/files?

is the touchscreen ok with fingers or is a stylus needed?

i forking hate hotdeals these days, i keep spending money. hot deal though dodman

I've always wanted a touch screen interface to mount on the wall that I could use to select and play mp3 files stored either on a dedicated low power PC or a NAT. Not quite sure where I'd get the software to do it effectively though....

That's the other ('main') reason I bought this for! Look up Squeezebox by Logitech.

As nice as the Squeezebox Touch seems, there's a considerable price difference!

Edit:

Just did a quick search and found this site:

http://www.mp3touchscreens.com/about.htm

There's seems to be a few people creating touch screen jukeboxes! Forum here: http://www.mp3touchscreens.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?b=TTprojects

I didn't mean it wouldn't be a replacement for the SB Touch, but something to control them. SqueezeBox products can be controlled via a browser. One of these wall mounted in 1, 2 or more rooms in a house could easily be used to control SB products
