Even though this may not seem like the cheapest price, it is very rare that you see this board below £20.

I have had this board for around 10 months now and it is wonderful - the wires are specially sculpted in order to reduce bounce-outs which are always annoying, whether you're a pro dart player or a beginner.

I use it almost every night for a minimum of 2 hours each time, and it is still in fantastic condition.

At this price, it's definitely a bargain and in my opinion, one of the best boards on the market.

* No bounce out galvanised blades and high tensile wire.
* Premium bristle dartboard, exclusively endorsed by the British Darts Organisation
* As seen on BBC TV at the Lakeside World Championships and Winmau World Masters
* Complete staple-free system
* Super dense sisal
* White coated, anti-glare number ring
* Free game of darts booklet and checkout table

A highly recommended board!

Completely different board, my friend.

The board you have posted is good for people who would rather sacrifice quality for price, but the Blade III/Blade 3 is a top-quality board and one of the best around at a wonderful price.

You could always start your own deal topic with your suggestion, though.

No, it's not bigger, Meangreenie - it's a professional standard-sized board which is used in many different televised events.

I've only scored 4 180s in my time (and only 3 of those were on this board at home!) :-D

Well I use these darts and they are perfect for me:

http://www.dartscorner.co.uk/p696/21g-Darts-Winmau-Sub-Zero-Tungsten-Darts-(80)---21g/product_info.html

However, it depends on what weight your partner likes to throw, if your partner prefers thin or chunky darts, etc.

Personally, I like to use the darts above as they are very solid for a start, but they are also thin and light and as I am a big guy I tend to naturally throw with more force/harder than most, so a lighter dart (21g) proved to be the best option for me.

However, I would definitely recommend the range that my dart is from, though (Winmau - Sub Zero) - here are some other sizes and weights available from the Winmau - Sub Zero range:

http://www.dartscorner.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=sub+zero&osCsid=20cd18e7039dc5936f674b02d07c3655&x=0&y=0

I'd say that anything around 21g-24g should be perfect for anybody as darts at these weights are some of the most commonly-used weights around.

I hope that this has helped!

Good price although personally I'd pay £5 more and go with the Unicorn Eclipse Pro

Take a look at www.puredarts.co.uk as they are much cheaper for the same darts at dartscorner and others.

I would recommend Taylors current darts- Phase 5 http://www.puredarts.co.uk/store/darts.php?c=Phase+5+Evolution:)

About 1 month ago I almost bought an Eclipse Pro, however my opinion changed when I played in a match with my team one night. The pub we'd played in had an Eclipse Pro, a fairly new one, say a couple of months old, and I noticed that the wire was already coming out/protruding from the surface of the board.

Also, after reading many reviews, I discovered that this is a common problem. Fair enough, the wires are much thinner and practically non-existant, but they do begin to protrude after a while and, in my opinion, the board isn't made very well, either.

However, if you're somebody who doesn't play very often and just wants a board to throw at occasionally, then why not go for it lol. :-D

TBH there aint that much difference between both the eclipse board and the blade 3, One is sanctioned by the BDO and the other the PDC. COL's right about "puredarts". There isn't a better company to buy Darts stuff from for me there the best in the business. Tried a few there's no one better.

Great dartboard, bought one in argos for 24.99 a while back so this is a good price for it

That's true, there isn't much difference however the overall durability and longevity of the boards vary massively (in favour of the Blade III).

I'll have to try puredarts one day - never seen them about, as such lol. Are they a new company or have they been around for a while?

Good deal for this board, Tesco and Argos are also selling this board for under £20 at the moment, argos also doing this board with cabinet for £29.99 which is a cracking deal.

The Winmau Blade 3 is a good durable well made board with thin wires. For the occasional thrower however the Unicorn Eclipse Pro is better and the wires are slightly thinner than the Blade 3. I have had my Unicorn about a year and I will probably get another 6 months out of it. Either board is good for under £20 as they both usually sell for £30. Winmau for durability and Unicorn for reduced bounceouts.

Whats better, the one from Amazon or this from Argos?

I take it the one from Amazon?

Thanks

Matt,

This board has staples which will greatly increase the chances of a bounce-out as the staples tend to get in the way. If you look closely you will see that the staples go across the 'treble' sections of the board and across two 'segments'. For example, the wire that separates the treble 20 and the treble 5 is held in place by a staple that goes into both the treble 20 bed and the treble 5 bed.

However, if you are an occasional thrower, then this may be a good deal for you as it comes in a cabinet and can be neatly stored away when not in use. On the other hand, if you are a heavy user, then durability is what is needed - maddoglewis's comment below is spot on.
