As per description, £3 wiper blades instore at my local ASDA, Portlethen. There were plenty available so I think it will probably be nationwide. Seemed to be a good range of sizes too.

Great price - better that then the failing the MOT and being quoted about £20...
#2

#3
how does one know if these will fit my car though...

check on a website like wiperblades.co.uk

Wilkinsons have a range of these at £1.97 all the time. I usually get mine there, but they don't have 24 inch ones.
#6
they squeal and judder but if you need them then its OK

Should change them when you need to, not just to pass the MOT!

I had some wilko ones once, rubber is too hard so they squeaked and juddered and the frame started to go rusty in no time - do yourself a favour and get some decent ones (Champion, Bosch, etc).

Got to be better than tesco's, mine came off doing 60(!) on the motorway!
#10
Also in tesco. there is a list of make and models they suit on the back.
#11
Be aware that alot of cars not have different sizes on the passenger side than the drivers side. I got a pair from tesco which were stated as fitting my corsa. When I got them home they fitted neither side! I now get my wipers from ebay - they are a bit more expensive but they are very good and have the rights sizes for both sides.

They were £5 at my Asdas earlier..

in asda hulme its £2

These supermarket wiper blades are a false economy, they rust very quickly and make your car look like an old banger! A previous poster was right, ebay is better for wiper blades
#17
our poundland often has those "magic wiper" wipers ,they last a few years then fall apart.
personaly I stick with either bosch or motaquip supplied.
#18
Got cheap wiper blades before and they started to rust at the wiper arm joint!!
#19
I got a pair from Lidl at the end of last year for £4.99. They glide smoothly across the glass and are very quiet.

this would be the usual price for a set of blades from a car parts shop. although you gotta watch em, i went with a broken leg so sent my mum in and she came out saying they wanted 20 quid, i went in to check and the price suddenly dropped to £2.somthing each X) shocking thing was it was him that looked **** off for missing out on ripping my mum off

Wasted journey for me as Crawley, W.Sussex, Asda did not have the sizes, 15" and 24", fitted to my Civic. However the good news is that they were priced at £2 each in a display about as far away from the normal motoring supplies as was possible. The sizes on display were; 18",19",20",21" and 22". I don't know if this is the case elsewhere though.

simple, just measure the length of each blade in inches then buy those sizes

Hot if good, cold if not. How can we tell?

£4.95 pair from Aldi recently are excellent though.

sounds familiar,my tesco wiper blades also came off and then the metal arm scratched the windscreen.within 3 weeks i had recieved a full refund on the blades and a newly installed heated front screen costing tesco £521.00 and fitted by autoglass.

Noone thought to polish it out, or was it that bad?

You couldn't help everyone to wring something out of Tesco in this thread could you? :p

Bloody awful weren't they!? I purposely went for the premium ones and was shocked when I found that the plastic connector was still attached, but the wiper itself had disappeared.

Bought myself some Bosch Mini Cooper specific ones from Ebay, they're absolutely solid and look about as nice as a set of wiper blades can I guess.

i guess there are some things you can't skimp on! condoms, teabags, now wipers!
#29
still a lady gadiva in my asda.

I have to wilkinson ones on my car at the mo, 4 months solid so problems so far been plenty of rain, not rust either. Not noisey well my set aren't and clear better than my bosch ones ever did! they were £18. My wilkinson ones were about £2 I think so if I have to replace them in a few months I still make a saving.

A side note the clips you attch to the arm of the car with the clips that come with it were rubbish I simply took the clips from the bosch ones and they are a nice snug fit with no movement. These clips are available or about 10p from car shops.

is this for two as £3 is the normal price?

I'd rather skimp on either than wipers :D (there's usually comical condom deals on here anyway)

Bosch wipers are crap too unless the ones I bought weren't genuine. Dead in < 5k miles.
