I've been looking for one of these but didn't fancy the hassle of eBay and any problems with returns. Aldi gear is always pretty decent and if it's not up to scratch, they are great with returns.

These look exactly the same as the HMDX speakers that have been going for around £17-£20
I have the HDMX and the sounds awesome! Battery with AUX isn't that great but does the job.
Link to the HDMX ones what are peoples thoughts?

I also own a hdmx one which I paid £40 in hmv a year or so ago, sound quality is excellent and its still going strong now. if this ones as good then a definate bargain!
#3
Anybody know the wattage on these and battery life?

Looks like the hmdx P230.

Bought the newer Hmdx P240 version from eBay tesco for 19 each as they can work as wireless stereo pair. Don't confuse this with the hmdx P240 even though looks the same. This probably had features similar to the older P230.
#5
I assume these can be used in pairs to achieve a stereo effect?

Lol no

Are these hdmx or ripoff copies?

The HDMX JAM 2 can but not the original hdmx jam. Jam 2 are about double the price though!

Can you use this while been charged?

How long does the battery last in stand by mode?

I am thinking of using mostly for my phone, as I assume as like the ones on ebay you can answer calls, basically for when my phone has been left upstairs and I am downstairs, so I would leave on 24 7 connected to my phone

Is charging via a usb mini to unit, and a normal male into either a usb port on computer or a usb mains charger?
There are ones off of ebay starting at £6ish

Just seen off eba its mini and a normal male one. The specs off ebay are not good for all of theses devices. 3w. Think these will be not that loud, and you might be better off listen on your decent headphones.

Like most Aldi deals there are only a few allocated per store so unless you're first in the queue you have a wasted journey. Voted cold because its Aldi item is good
#16
just what I'm after as bought an x mini uno yesterday but its utter rubbish via my headphone socket on note 2 as turns out most phones have limited audio law from eu lol, its the same in my hudl tablet as well but great in laptop.
I'm hoping bluetooth is the way to go for portable speaker just want it for watching sky go in my lorry on breaks.

You would only have to be first in the queue if they had one! When did you last go to Aldi? They generally have good stocks of most of their 'specials'.

OP - Voted hot, great value and the Aldi returns policy is excellent if there is a problem.

Are these ones on eBay the same device (almost ) or are they pretty much totally inferior ?

Already mention about them on ebay!!! They are the same from what I read, or infact slightly better. As aldi doesnt not state the rms watts on them.
Still thinking there all a bit low for my liking, and wont be loud enough.

That eBay links show models with a different design - are you sure that they are the same model?

If you don't have an Aldi near you The Hut do a good alternative which is also 9.99 and you can get free delivery;

http://www.thehut.com/electronics/audio/iluv-mobione-bluetooth-portable-speaker-with-mic-red/10859066.html

Comes in red, green or pink. I bought one for a present recently and for the price it is very good. The sound isn't of amazing quality but much better than expected.

These are HDMX Jam copies and sound hideous in comparison.

Spend an extra £7 and get the real deal.

Anyone actually picked up one of these, now that it's "deal day?"

Yes, bought a pink one from the Maidstone branch.

For the money it's good, seems well built and loud enough for us around the house (good range as well).

They definitely do not sound 'hideous', for £10 they are excellent value for money.

Alas my local store at Hatfield runs out within hours of specials if they are half decent. You see all the rubbish specials hanging around for days and very often they sticker them up and reduce them further. Got a electric knife sharpener for £4-95 and a compressor reduced to £39 once. I don't find it a pleasure to shop at Aldi for this type of thing anymore because of the numerous let downs and disappointments, I receive when an item is sold out.

Had a few left in Hemel branch....
#35
Just bought one 3 watt output great sound for small speaker and 5 hour battery life when fully charged depending on how high you have the volume etc. Less than half the price of similar type and three year guarantee.

Hi, just picked up a couple of these Bugs from the Store in Radford Coventry and they seem to have plenty of stock. They look well solid and well finished so i will give them a good charge up and blast this evening via my LG G2.

Comes with a 3yrs warrantly and a Aldi 3mth replacement or refund which is better than most...
#37
Picked up three of these, at one of the local stores. Had plenty in stock. Nothad a chance to try them yet, but look fine!
#38
I got one today but it had 2 charging cables in it and no audio cable so it'll be going back to exchange. other than that they look great. Peterborough store had a lot in stock today.
#39
Got a couple today, they sound a bit grim compared to some others I've heard, but the other's I've heard were much more than a tenner.

Using an app like VLC allows a bit of EQ tweaking which I think helps a bit. With that in mind, not bad for a tenner but there's no doubt in my mind that some of the more expensive ones (at least that I've heard) do sound much better.
