You can rotate the camera remotely from your phone or computer. The picture is good quality and you can even set it to send you photos by email if someone moves in front of it!

I need an outdoor security camera for a distant car port/area with v poor/non existent wifi. There is power, but it's rural and the wifi range is pants. Any ideas anyone? With thanks
What has being rural got to do with WiFi signal? Unless you have a cow in your house and it's blocking the signal.

These are great. We have one to monitor our dogs when we're out... and now I've just taken advantage of this low price to buy a second which will enable me to take a peek at our new baby (when it arrives!) when I'm working away from home on night shifts!

Price seems too good to be true for a wifi security camera! Would love one but sceptical it works well at this price. Heat regardless.

Do you need a tradesman to fit these? I'm guessing they'll need connecting to the mains power?

Should come with a standard 3 pin plug.

Looks similar to one I picked up recently off this deal - http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/cnm-ip-camera-27-99-argos-ebay-2108500

Oh is this an indoor camera?

Believe so yeah. The page doesn't state it, but it's the same model (or look/spec) as other indoor cameras I've seen. All the examples of use it gives are indoor scenarios.

Yes it is indoor use but I have had one under the soffit board at the front of the house where rain doesn't hit it and it has worked well outside for 2 years. Very easy to fit and set up too. You can hear through it remotely but if you want to talk to someone through the camera you need to pick up a small cheap speaker. I've just bought another 2 at this price as usually about £33

Have some heat good price!
I bought Wanscams that look almost identical to these (about the same price from what I recall), what makes them is the software support - mine behave like Foscams, however the ActiveX only work under IE and only after a lot of security tweaks. I can access it from my BlackBerry & Android (Chrome) with a limited interface. Do you know what browser support these have?

Description says it has a speaker built in, are you talking about a different model?

Hi you are right. They must have improved the model and now seems to include a speaker!
The negative reviews on Amazon are mainly where people can use the basic instruction that come with it but we used YouTube to see how to set it up. The main issue being the need to make a little change to your broadband router setting to allow outside access (you) to the IP Cam.
On our iPhones we downloaded IP Cam Viewer lite for free to view cams when out and about. If you want to hear or speak through it you need to purchase full copy but most people are happy just watching through it.
We created a free email address to set up with the cam so if we turn on email alerts/motion detector then it sends 5 photos to the address or addresses you enter from the address you have entered. If I turn it on, I get an email showing the postman pulling up, getting out of his van and walking up our drive and that happens before he knocks on the door lol

Just this device, not all.

I recently got a vstarcam for just over a tenner more new from eBay. It's HD and generally a much better camera than this one. I'd definitely suggest spending the extra. I sent one of these straight back.

Rural = no wifi outside house further than about 10metres. No 4G, barely 3G and only connected to your own wifi signal/router if you are in range. Poor signal/speed anyway.

Worth a punt at that price. Ordered.
I need it to spy on my two young boys who have a bunk bed. One of them wakes the other and now I get to find out which it was.

What software are people using with this?

I have this, for 20 quid it does its job well. the IR is cool.

For gods sake make sure you properly secure this and change the default passwords so noone can hack in
#34
Yes agree with above. The default password is admin and passcode 123456
You MUST change this when you set up. Otherwise people will spy through your IP Camera.
Another nice feature you have with this model and software is you can create a guest login where you choose what the guest can see/do. You can set it so they can't move camera around, can't use audio to listen etc. lots of possibilities - but do please change default password. Always use mixture of small case and capital letters with numbers too :-)

Tempted to get one for keeping an eye on our little bundle of noise when she's sleeping. Seems a better bet than the usual expensive baby monitors.

That's not how wireless works.... Wireless works on the lowest class. For example if you had 3 devices with wireless N and one with G then your wireless router would work at G because of that one device. <--- this is wrong... Its when a B connects instead of a G.
