Hmm - I misread the post initially.

Suppose it's alright for £24 - not hot though. It's never been £70 - my local independent PC store has had these at £30 for ages.

Unlikely - IIRC these would need a Bluetooth device , whereas this uses some other 2.4 GHz wireless connection - the same frequency band but without the licensing , standards or interoperability.

It may work via the usb port - the fact that it is not bluetooth shouldnt matter. Even so, dont quote me on it.

This looks like it has a couple of differences (? advantages) over the standard Microsoft media centre keyboard:

- it is bluetooth, not infra red - the MS keyboard it needs to be pointing at the USB infrared receiver for it to work, which can be awkward sometimes
- it has a trackball pointer, rather than the "nipple" type on the MS keyboard.

I didnt realise they made infrared peripherals anymore - I thought they were all RF (even the non bluetooth ones)

Slight word of caution, I bought one of these (from Gizoo IIRC, they don't seem to sell it anymore) and it lasted about 6 months before the trackball became unresponsive. When you combine that with the rather poor range of the item I decided it wasn't even worth sending it back to get repaired.

I ended up getting a wireless keyboard with trackpad made by keysonic and whilst it doesn't have media functions I am very impressed with it.

Just received mine and the dongle does not fit into the underside of the keyboard as shown in the picture:x
Also it looks like you will have to disassemble the keyboard to clean the trackball:?:x
