It's not for the Xbox 360 it's to connect your wireless xbox 360 controller to your pc (it's a crossfire).
#2
Noticed that

Noticed that also. My first impression was that it connected the xbox to the internet, not the case.

true, a good deal.

Sure this used to be cheaper, around £6.85 last I checked, think this may actually be a price increase.

Can someone confirm what games this would work with, i'm sure I read before that they only work on Games for Windows Live, is this the case ?
I normally only play games on xbox, but wouldn't mind a contoller on the PC, but only this method if it works with most games.

I use mine with GTA IV(Windows Live), but also Hawx and NFS:HP both of which are not Windows Live, work fine, what other games are you wondering about and I'll give them a go if I have them, or did you just want to know if it's windows live only, in which case it isn't, loads of games support it.

In fact I found this:

Thanks for the info, looks worthwhile having one.

Don't realy have a list of games in mind, but good to know most should work.

Xbox wireless controller is great if not the best controller you can get. Works fantastic with PC and if the game do not support it itself there is xpadder which also allows you to use the pad as remote. Get this dongle...

DX had to remove some of their Xbox items due to a DMCA complaint. This was one of them along with some hard drives among other things.

Are these any better or worse than the official ms receivers?

I have one it took 2 months to come and when it came the disc to install it was useless so i had to google it and its a bit of a ball ache to get working but thats on windows7 64bit and all drivers must be signed but when i did it was great. I have been playing Bio shock and in answer to which games it works with its usually cross over games if its out for the console and its out on PC the control usually works.

This is off the controller page instructions for instructions for 64bit,

Instructions:
FIRST of all connect the reciever with your PC and install its Software (from the small red disc you got with your device).
Then follow the instruction in this video:

It is really easy to get the drivers off the official microsoft site. Not sure what you found hard about it.

Windows Driver site - http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=gaming

Windows 7 64 bit driver - http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/9/4/69446ACF-E625-4CCF-8F56-58B589934CD3/Xbox360_64Eng.exe
Windows 7 32 Bit Driver - http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/9/4/69446ACF-E625-4CCF-8F56-58B589934CD3/Xbox360_32Eng.exe

no, you can also smear jam (or marmalade) on your PC components whilst dancing the bolero, i believe this allows them to magically enable some dormant ability to communicate with wireless xbox controllers (and aliens).

I dont think these are offical Microsoft ones so would perhaps need a different driver.

Does anyone know if you can use the xbox controller with emulators etc and just remap the buttons?
#27
Yes it will work with emulators.

Just a heads up to anybody wanting to use this to connect the MS official Wheel to there PC. There is no support for force feedback (rumble), MS has been promising it since the official receiver was launched 3-4 years ago, still nothing.

Ye the one I had wasnt the microsoft offical and wouldnt automaticly install drivers on windows 7. The official one does.

I'm not sure it's 'official' - Sure looks familiar, but I never consider any of these China based companies to be offering the genuine things for these prices. More just reasonably priced, 'usually' quality alternatives. Shame there isn't any reviews of the product you posted to help.
#31
Be very patient as delivery can be so slow...my order of 28 December has still not arrived...albeit that it took until 13 January for its dispatch.

In case anyone is wondering, this is not the "official" product from Microsoft. It's the China version hence the lower price.

Bought this a month ago, still not received it.. Grr.
