Cheapest by 50p + 5% Quidco.

Bruce Robinson's semi-autobiographical account of his early years as an actor has become a cult hit of massive proportions, inspiring countless numbers of young men and women to quote stars Paul McGann and Richard E. Grant and their booze-soaked dialogue. The story follows these two unemployed actors in 1969 London, as they take a holiday in the country. Trapped inside a dank, empty cabin with each other, an endless downpour of heavy rain battering their roof, the two men form a complicated bond fuelled by booze, disaster, and nihilism. Though not much happens in terms of plot, WITHNAIL AND I is one of the most subtly hilarious films to come out of 1980s.

EDIT: oh an beware of the quality of this Blu-Ray release. Apparently the DVD version is on par or better, depending on version.

If you watch this, it will be 107 wasted minutes of your life that you will never get back.

When the review trying to sell you the film says there is not much by way of a plot it should set alarm bells ringing.

Are you out of your mind?, have you ever seen this? One of the best films ever made, endlessly quotable, and as Mark5211 says , gets better with every viewing.

It's one of the funniest films I have ever seen but I do have sympathy with people who don't like it. It took me three watches before I really found it as funny as many people say it is. After eight watches it's now one of my favourite films in the world!

Rogue, yes I've seen it. I wouldn't comment on something I hadn't.
Maybe it does need a second viewing, but I just can't find the self hate within me to inflict the punishment on my eyes again.

Does the fact that is one of the most loved films ever not make you think that maybe, just maybe, the film isn't actually bad rather it's just not to your taste?

For the same price you might be better getting the 2xDVD+1xCD 20th Anniversary edition that at least has plenty of awesome extras. It sounds like you'd be getting only a marginal increase in PQ with the Bluray. If you don't have the film then I'd go for the DVD.

That could well be true, though I thought it had a cult following rather than mass appeal. I know far more people that don't like it than do, but that will be down to social circles and the like.

That is the reason I've voted it hot, as my opinion of a film doesn't affect whether on not £5.49 is a good price for a DVD (in the same way that football shirts should be marked cold just because you don't like the team).

"I'm going to pull you head off".
"Oh no, please, don't pull my head off".
"I'm going to pull your head off because I don't like your head!"

One of my favourite films of all time..
