Wizz Air - 20% Off All Flights - Sale Extended Until Friday 22nd March!

gilesrdaviesgilesrdavies

Wizzair do these deals every so often and thought I would let you know, as just received an email from them.

On Thursday 21st March 2013, the airline is offering 20% discount off all flights to all destinations.

EDIT - Sale now been extended running till Friday 22nd March...

Nearly all their destinations are to Eastern and Central Europe, including ideal destinations for a City Break, like Prague and Budapest. Also if you want an alternative summer sun beach destination that is different to Spain or Greece, they fly to the Bulgarian Black Sea cities of Varna and Bourgas and also to Split on the Adriatic coast in Croatia.

I have flown them numerous times from Luton, and found them very good... Nice modern Airbus A320 aircraft (if however painted a little bright), comfy seating and very friendly crew. They have always been on time for me too.

The airline is a low cost carrier, similar to easyJet and Ryanair, so there can be the usual additional fees, like when paying by credit card or taking large hand baggage/checked in bags.

Im sure there will be some usual moaners complaining about the airlines additional fees and about what is and what's not included, but that is the way the Low Cost Airline industry works! I'll leave that for those individuals to compain about below.

Flight prices since 9pm going up. I have checked flight prices from Luton-Wroclaw in May about an hour ago. One way was £43.98 (most days) ,now is £54.98. So if Wizz take 20% off tomorrow the price will be back to £43.98. Clever as always Wizz air. Don't trust them at all.

Noticed this last time if you price somethin up before the sale you will find the same price as Kris mentioned as well. Ridiculous that the think they won't be caught out! Crafty budget airlines won't change there's always something to hide

I respect your opinion, but I haven't found that, I have found they are genuinely 20% off in the past! The proof is in the pudding, if you go back the following day after the sale and they should be atleast 20% more than on the sale day, and they have always been in my case...

You really need to be careful what you say in public domain, as you are basically making slanderous comments about the way the airline works with its pricing and claiming they are not having a genuine sale, without presenting your evidence!

Low cost airlines sell their seats in batches, at certain prices, so maybe the first 10 seats are sold at XX price, then when they are sold the next batch of 10 are sold at YY price and the next 10 ZZ price, etc... Usually the sooner you book the cheaper they are.

I don't think that. You are wrong mate. With low cost airlines always book flights 6-8 weeks in advance. No earlier.

Ryanair is 3 times cheaper at april

I have been raveling with both Wizz air and Ryan Air. Sometimes Wizz air is cheaper sometimes Ryan Air is cheaper. So when I want to ravel on particular day I just do comparison among all budget airlines which one is the cheapest that is what I am choosing.

The price online ticket of budget airlines go up and down say every minutes so there is now way you could check whether they are genuine or not ..... Correct me if I am wrong .....

So If I am traveling on particular date and destination this 20% is not the only parameter that I am checking as I will also compare it with other budget airlines even without discount. The one which is the cheapest that is what I am choosing .....

Rubbish....I always book my seats with Easyjet the day they come out and they gradually go up from that day onward.

easyjet is not really same kind of airline as wizz and ryanair. Anyway the prices much more expensive than yesterday. Everybody knows wizz always doing like that. Day before prices up,next day 20% off.

I used to work in advertising. This kind of things come up all the time. A plumber would advertisie 10% off quoting PB10 etc

Then when he asked them where they got his number, the price would just shoot up by 10%.

    Oldest trick in the book.

Giles is correct saying that in the past this has been a genuine 20% off. I have used Wizz numerous times & always book on these promotion dates & generally search the day before & the day after to compare prices. With the Wroclaw flight they obviously have increased the price but on previous occasions i have managed to get Kiev, Warsaw, Prague & Vilnius at knockdown prices.

Whilst on subject can anyone please suggest best place in Eastern Europe to get an English speaking dentist at a good price ? Have googled it but unsure where to go. Thanks.

    Without presenting evidence?
He just gave you the exact price and its increase on a particular flight before and after the sale started. I don't see what more evidence you need.

Are Wizz Air the airline who charge you to take a bag on board as in hand luggage??
    husain_kola
    1. Small cabin bag:
-If your cabin baggage is of size 42x32x25cm or smaller it can be taken onboard free of charge. It must fit under the seat in front of you.

    2. Large cabin bag:
If your cabin baggage is larger than the dimensions of a small cabin bag but not exceeding 56x45x25cm, you can take it onboard for a €10 fee. It must fit in the overhead compartment. You must be able to place it in the overhead compartment unassisted.
