Love the stuff myself. As I've not seen it offer for a while (and have therefore run out) I'll swing past on my way home (no doubt they'll have sold out).

I think it tastes lovely but you have to pay £5 delivery on top if you order online. This should be reflected in the deal.

I just bought 12 bottles and used a £10 code I found n HUKD so that's £52 including delivery. £4.33 a bottle is a steal for this quality.

stoko! you're stealing my thunder, man!
that's good that it's available at bargainbooze, too - I've only been in there once or twice and didn't see many bargains (I thought it was expensive!)

cheers

Nowhere near as good as the Presidents Selection offer from Nov/Dec, but good value for what it is.

Oh I'm gutted I missed that deal!!!! I bought a bottle of Yellow and President's to compare, fully expecting not to be able to tell the difference, but I was very wrong.

H&R added for price for those that like it, bought 6 to give away as gifts, not keen on it myself, prefer Errazuriz and Casillero del Diablo.

Sorry - wasn't meant to diss your post. Just to give an option for those like me that don't have a convenient Tesco but do have a convenient BB. :)
Their best bargain IMHO is their Hardys Bin 343 which is £7 for 2 bottles. ;-)

i hate hate hate Tesco, but with a deal like this on my favourite wine i will work through my issues with tesco's for a bargain! :)

Agreed. It may have finished now, and it may only have been a local offer, but I was in my local ASDA last week and they had a few nice looking wines on 3 for £15, including Wolf Blass and, more importantly, Casillero del Diablo. Can't see any sign of it online now, but also can't see any sign of it posted on here, so may be worth a look.

Regularly £26 for 6 (incl vat) at costco. Can't knock costco for wine, bakery and meat.

Peter Lehmann wines are also worth a punt. I particularly like his 'Clancy', "Australia's Legendary Red" at the cheaper ( but not cheap) end of the range. If you'd pay £8 for Wolf Blass then you must try this.

And finally

Is it just me or do most red's taste better the day after opening ?

Cue the " it never lasts that long in our house" gang :)

No its not just you, although it does depend on the wine...it can help if you open the bottle in advance of drinking it to allow it to 'breathe'. Ideally you could decant it...can soften the wine a bit.

When looking for Casillero del Diablo which particular wine would you recommend?
#29
In B & M Bargain Shops this is £4.25 a bottle.... while stocks last obviously..... which so far has been 3 weeks.

That's the most you should ever pay for this run of the mill plonk.

Tesco just don't do bargain wine. Their RRP prices with big discounts are a joke but people here seem to be taken in by them all the time.

My personal favourite is their Viognier (although I had a rather pleasant Chardonnay last week as well). If you're after red then I would go for Cabernet Sauvignon.

I wouldn't say its run of the mill, but your right with the prices i think this and the shiraz ( great with a curry) is a very capable wine at £5 a bottle, unfortunately i only have sainsburys near me, and they rarely do deals on wolf bass:x tite gits
#33
Majestic sometimes do this for £5 a bottle. Good stuff at that price though I'd never buy it at RRP.

The shiraz is pleasant but my favourite by a long way the mighty Cabernet Sauvignon

(sorry to keep going partly off topic op :whistling:)
#35
Under £5 a bottle is an OK price for thsi wine. Many of the Wolfblass wines are perfectly drinkable and pleasant wines but , along woth many many other mass wine makers, the RRP's are a joke

Try some independednt smaller wine makers and you will get more quality wine for your £. If you want something easlily neckable then buy some of this aswell. Its all good!
#36
Heat added ---you can also buy this for 5 quid at any B+M store --and its 5.29 at Netto --only the Cab Sauv , Merlot and Chardonnay though .
#37
:whistling: The only good (realistically) priced wines Tesco have on offer at the moment IMO are the 3 for £10 ones.......their wine prices seem to have rocketed just recently...I'm still waiting for them to do one of their gr8 25% off 6 bottles deals, which when combined with the 3 for £10 is really good value!!!!! Here's hoping we won't have to wait too long! :-D

Cab Sauv is the one that everyone seems to like when they come to our house

This really is a very very good deal, it's normally promotied at £6.00 a bottle!
