Wolf Blass Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay "half price" at Morrisons.

Nice wine, and a great price.

Edited, seems that it is exempt from the 5% off if you buy six bottles.

Just bought six last week at Tesco at £4.99 and 5% off for six.
Well, never mind another 6 won't go wrong.

... and Netto.

Netto also have 'Wolf Blass Eaglehawk' which is a nice drop :-D (also £2.99).

Netto don't always stock it...and I've never managed to buy it there for £2.99  its usually £3.99 plus at ours?

Still a better drop than Stowells muck. :whistling:

I've got 3 cases in my garage of Wolf Blass from Netto (they have it in Chesterfield and Sheffield quite regularly) they also have some nice Rosemount too (last time I was in it was 3 for £10) :-D

... and I totally agree with the Stowells comments - the "Wine's of the World" or whatever it's called (the 4 for £10 rubbish) is absolutely dire. If people think it's nice, they have no idea about wine.

Is this right, that Netto and Home Bargains sell Wolf Blass Yellow Label for £2.99!

Can someone please confirm this, seems too good to be true.

If you likes wines that taste like an alcoholic version of coke (or pepsi) then this is a real steal. If you prefer some structure to your wines and not just sweet fruit then avoid at any price.

Fret not as this stuff is ALWAYS on offer somewhere.
#16
oh, and ps.

The chancellor takes about £1.40 of this price in duty and VAT. The merchant/supermarket 30% profit per bottle. The label, closure and bottle costs say another quid for all 3.

So there's roughly 50 pence worth of wine there...

See where I'm going - ie is this * really* value for money???

The decision is yours.
#17
Yeah.... And wine is so much cheaper if you buy it in France...

This is a nice wine with a meal or on it's own.

Voted HOT!

****! i like a fine wine now and again but cant justify it on a regular basis and wolf blass yellow label carenet sauvignon is a Very palatable wine! its miles ahead of all the £2.99 wines and may often be available on special offer but sells equally well at £7.99 and beyond!

Some people only enjoy "fruity" wines (i'm not one of them btw!) so lets not get all wine snobby here!!!

if it sells in good numbers and is a bargain at half price then thats what this site is all about isn't it???

Hark at the connoisseur!

This is a decent wine, especially at this price.

BTW, I think the fella with the Stowells post was having a laugh.:whistling:

Its amazing we have so many Oz Clarke's and Jilly Goolden's on here!!!

this wine is a nice drink, but what do I know, I thought the Stowell's red tasted nice!!!:?

This is a BLINDING wine at £3.99, the cheapest I ever saw this was £5 and that was over a year ago. If you have some better suggestions on a decent wine with a good 'structure' at this price point then go on, link us up - I, for one, am willing to have a bash.

If you can't then it's an utterly pointless post - 'if you pay more you can get better quality' - we all KNOW that, you could say that about ANYTHING.
