Please. Your Avatar. Too much.

You could be very right.. but I'll be honest, the only games announced that i want to buy are The Last of US Remaster, The Order, Evolve and The Master Chief collection (I miss Halo 2 something fierce).. they'll all play very well!!!

Nintendo are so out of touch the only people who are surprised by their shamefully low sales are the board (the fanboys are largely still in denial) I sold my 3DS last week after Nintendo announced a SINGLE new game at E3. One game. Uno. It would have been fine if it was a Metroid or a Zelda (I'd even take a Majora remake) but it looks awful. I've been playing Nintendo games since the SNES, I quit their consoles because the Wii and DS were aimed at people that aren't me. I gave them another Chance with 3DS and purchased 10 games in 2 years which were mostly really good but I haven't purchased anything since November last year and there is Nothing announced except cheap otaku ports, shovelware and Smash which I despise.. so, I'm out. This time for good.

How do I know this game runs in Single digit frames at times? Well I purchased it for my Nephew at Easter... Not that it really matters because he's back to playing Minecraft.. Nintendo are so irrelevant even children largely ignore their products.. a shame it came to this but for now it's better than what became of Sega!

Finally someone who talks sense. You'll be VERY unpopular here.

I wish hukd allowed users to sell digital games. I have a code for this for download, pikmin 3 and wind waker but oh well.

I'm delighted with my 3DS more than any other console I own.

Just because your taste seems to be within what I'd deem to be utter guff, you slate a whole company?

I could say a whole lot more about sony. A company who have effectively abandoned their own current handheld. But I like my playstation. I go where the games I like to play are at. And right now they're most certainly settled in the arms of Mario and co.

Nintendo didn't develop this game. I'd sooner play this than Knack or Ryse though. And I think most people would do the same.

I managed to get a download version of this from ebay for £12 because everybody's selling off codes from Mario Kart 8. Not for everyone I guess but as the disc drive is very noisy, playing downloadable games has its advantages :3

single digit framerates? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH no.
as usual, check Saurs youtube guides to this, its not for everyone but is a great game.

Good grief. Who said I liked Knack or Ryse? (what a nonsensical argument!! but if we're playing that game I guess its my turn:
I'd rather take a bath of baked beans than play Sonic WiiU)

I play very few games but I have an incredibly broad taste in genres, I'm just very selective with what I play within those genres. The Wonderful 101 runs like poop, you can argue against that until you're blue in the face but I've seen it and it's true. If Nintendo want to make an cheap under-powered console then that's fine but don't try and publish games that are too ambitious for the hardware and think you wont draw some criticism from the people who are not blinkered fanboys.

If you enjoy shallow/repetitive/offline platformer after minigame collection after platformer then that's great. What do I care? Indeed I like the odd platformer myself.. only it's a genre I've been playing since I was 8 years old and has barely changed. If anything littlebigplanet is much better than any 2D Mario game I've played in recent years. Nintendo churns out cookie cutter platform games and Activision churn out Call of Duty.. both of which I avoid (I played one CoD and that was more than enough to tell me I need never play that again)

The fact is Nintendo are out of touch and they're being punished with incredibly low sales and retailers removing their products from shelves as a result. Their hardware is poorly constructed and feels cheap and tacky, their game portfolio lacks any diversity (there was a time when Nintendo made games like Eternal Darkness, Blast Corps and Perfect Dark) and their online infrastructure is an ongoing joke.
I had a 3DS until recently and purchased 9 games (Mario 3D, Mario Kart, Luigi Mansion, Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong Returns, Starfox, Zelda LBW, Zelda OoT, Resident Evil Rev) but they have resorted to pumping out Japanese otaku ports to fill the huge voids in software release. I didn't buy anything in nearly 8 months and there is literally not a single game of the 9 announced for release between now and the end of Spring next year (lol what a joke that is). So don't tell me I don't like Nintendo games. They lost me a consumer when they stopped supporting the 3DS and resorted to terribly niche products for Japanophiles.

Even Nintendo's best games are so utterly over shadowed by a game like The Last of Us which has both a great campaign and fantastic competitive multiplayer.

You can put your fingers in your ears.. but their business structure, as is, can't sustain them long term.... Cue the Quality of Life nonsense.. but I'm sure you'll enjoy that too :)

I got through most of the game, but the camera did my head in. Shame as Platinum are my favourite developers after Nintendo and when it works it's brilliant; I know plenty of people who didn't find it as annoying!

Certainly don't remember bad frame rates, and definitely not single digits.

It's not for everyone, but it's a great unique game. The way Nintendo operate may not be as popular or as commercially successful, but when it comes to their games I don't want them to change how they make them, some new IP and bringing back other series would be great of course, but nobody can make games that I love as well as Nintendo.

I think people from both sides of the fence need to realise it's OK for people to like different things.

I'm warning you, you'll get exaggerated praise for Nintendo and how it's affected some persons quality of life, in an overlooked grammar para where they try to insult you by basically saying you're just not intelligent enough to grasp nintendo a master plan. I have learned not to comment on three things: Nintendo, apple or ethnic dispositions. Your opinion will never be entertained by these tragic and unnecessarily empassioned followers who make the nazis seem like an agreeable aunt everyone loves. You'll either be labelled a bigot, a generalised or less intelligent, in a passive aggressive way. Just be careful.

Why do people need to get so belligerent about something as inconsequential as a video games machine?

...there was a time when Nintendo made games like Eternal Darkness, Blast Corps and Perfect Dark...

Nintendo published all three titles.
"Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem" was developed by Silicon Knights.
Rare (now a subsidiary of Microsoft Studios) developed the other two.

They feel demeaning the choice of somebody else seems to justify the failure of their own purchase.

As long as you are happy & remain entertained, it should not matter if you have the most unpopular console, or the smallest selection of games to play.

The fact is Nintendo are out of touch

It's a very big grey area as to whether they are out of touch. It appears however, that the fact is that Nintendo our out of touch with you. I'd say Nintendo missed the mark by a long shot rather being out of touch - splitting hairs I suppose.

Hardcore gaming is a saturated market. That isn't to say there aren't billions of £'s to be made globably from the market but Nintendo were quite aware that in order to continue competing and, importantly to grow, they had to adapt. While Wii U is a flop (a flop with one of the finest games of this, or any generation, in Mario 3D World), the Wii and all of their DS range (including that 3DS you are angry about) hit the nail on the head.

I don't mean to fan any console war flames. I like all the current gen machines and PC gaming, have a vita and a 3DS, been playing them all back to the C64/NES/Master System days, etc, etc, etc. What I can say is as big a disappointment that the Wii U is, it is still setting a strong foundation for their inevitable next gen machine with games and characters that younger gamers simply adore. I can't get either of my kids (3 & 5) to shut up about Mario or Donkey Kong and the Wii U in general is something I can enjoy with my kids a great deal.

Anyway, I do find console bashing strange. And the sort of Battlefield vs COD vs Medal of Honour arguments of old. Always seemed to smack of insecurities, as if people needed to publicly justify that their purchase was the better option as console/game X is a piece of rubbish for reaons X, Y, Z. I suppose you could argue that I'm being a hypocrite after sticking up for Nintendo here but the above wasn't written by some misguided sense of loyalty/duty.

However this game is by Platinum, a 'hardcore' company. It's a complicated game and I haven't had any issues with the game slowing down, though the game is gorgeous :3 Who cares about Nintendo in general, can't we take things on a game by game basis?

Of course an adult who rises above such childish arguments wouldn't take to a website thread and condescend by calling everyone children. Surely that would be too tacky and tragic even for a nintendork. It's almost as though your lives stopped being fun after childhood so you're viciously overprotective of everything remotely nostalgic. So sad.

Whilst there are slight framerate problems (and not down to single figures, I should know because I used to work in the industry for 4 years and have plenty of experience working with FRAPS to judge these sort of drops) it doesn't stop this game from being the best that Kamiya has come up with so far. If you like action games then this is an essential purchase for any Wii U owner.

Just think of the most spectacular end-of-game boss fight you've ever faced, then realised that the very first end-of-LEVEL boss is more spectacular than that, and that as the game continues the bosses get more and more spectacular as they come along. You'll find yourself saying, 'How the **** are they going to manage to top THAT..?!?!?' over and over again lol X)

As with all Platinum games there's a learning curve (which is why imo it didn't review better...the majority of reviewers are pants at playing games surprisingly...they won't even review games in the States without a walkthrough!) but once you get the hang of the combo system you'll be pulling off some awesome combos and getting higher than a Bronze award for each level lol :p And as with all Platinum titles there's shedloads of replay value for completionists.

It's going to take something VERY special to beat this game as my personal best game of this generation, it's number 2 in my top 5 games of all-time list.

If you try the demo first you'll probably need to complete it two to four times before it all 'clicks', and you may want to check out these tutorials from Saur if you don't fancy working out the deep combat mechanics yourself. Once you get the hang of the combat the game is a real blast.

At this price you'd be a fool not to buy it imho 8)
