Bloody great deal. Just bought one after watching two episodes of this on the BBC HD channel at the weekend!

Amazon.co.uk Review
The latest example of just how much a terrific documentary series can benefit from the Blu-ray format, Wonders Of The Solar System is a fascinating six-part series that simply looks stunning in high definition.
Presented by Professor Brian Cox, the series takes time to investigate the solar system around us, and the many natural beauties contained within it. Across the episodes, Cox covers the likes of planets themselves, the rings of Saturn, the question of whether we’re alone in the universe, and the sun itself.

What lifts Wonders Of The Solar System above the many shows that have tackled the subject before, however, are two factors. Firstly, it’s Cox himself, an enthused and interesting host, who explains things well and really helps make accessible the material. Secondly, it’s the utterly stunning visuals. The BBC has mixed in CGI along with images sent directly from space to quite breathtaking effect.

And this, inevitably, is where the Blu-ray kicks in. Wonders Of The Solar System simply looks wonderful in high definition, with the visuals coming across terrifically well. On DVD, this all looked very impressive. Here, it’s simply brilliant, and the end result is a series that can sit alongside Planet Earth as an example of just what Blu-ray can do for material of this quality and ilk. --Jon Foster

Along this the LIFE & Planet Earth Blu Rays from yesterday, i've bagged some proper bargains!
Picked this up a while ago. Just a heads up that it's only 1080i (not 1080p) so don't expect too much improvemennt over the BBC HD broadcast.

Voted Hot though.
Available at TheHut for £11.93 with possible cashback.
I bought it from Amazon for £11,43 a few weeks ago
Out of a collection of well over 100 blu-rays, this one had (in my opinion) the worst audio mixing by a mile - I could hardly make a word out that Brian Cox said due to the other channels drowning him out (when downmixed to 2 channel stereo on tv speakers).
Fantastic series, but, as mentioned, the only blu ray in a huge collection to give me serious problems audio wise - very disappointed......
Not really a fantastic deal. Has been cheaper quite a few times previously, and probably will be again soon.
see it for free HERE:D

I really hate that smug git of a host
I didnt think this was very good, maybe as i havent really got much of a thirst for science! Found it quiet boring! History;s my poison!

Brian Cox makes the series for me; a bloody brilliant host whose boundless enthusiasm shines through.
Got this for £11.43 a few months back +about 60p Quidco with asda entertainment and a £1 of discount voucher for that weekend.

Sendit, the hut, and zavvi all have it in stock for £11.89-£11.95 delivered and they have quidco so I have to vote cold.

But this is a great Blu-Ray.

Theres no difference in picture quality between 1080i and 1080p, if you have a decent TV that is. Obviously if people try to watch this on some cheap Samsung or LG tv then it'll have difficulties with the de-interlacing.
