DVD Description
Who are we? Why are we here? Where do we come from? These are among the most enduring and profound questions we can ask, and it is an essential part of human nature to want to find the answers.

We can trace our ancestry back hundreds of thousands of years to the dawn of humankind, but in reality our story extends much further back:
it starts with the beginning of the universe. Our universe began 13.7 billion years ago, and today it is filled with over 100 billion galaxies, each containing hundreds of billions of stars, and a breathtaking array of wonders.

In this groundbreaking new series Prof. B Cox tells the epic story of our universe and shows how its story is also our story.

Good deal if you can stand that smiling Cox.

Cox is the reason i've missed out on some good BBC documentaries. can't stand his stupid grin; commentators aren't meant to grin at you.

good deal if you can stomach Cox. heat added, seems a good price.

This is a great series, but I don't think this is a good price for only 4 episodes.

Like others have said, it's Cox that really puts me off. However, my real problem is with this stuff... "it starts with the beginning of the universe. Our universe began 13.7 billion years ago, and today it is filled with over 100 billion galaxies, each containing hundreds of billions of stars, and a breathtaking array of wonders."

...how do we know the universe had a beginning? ...how do we know how old it is and what's in it? ...the only true fact that I'm aware of is that we are an insignificant civilisation of f**kwits who know sod all about how big, how old and what exactly is in the universe!!

...I'd have more respect for these 'experts' if they just said they didn't know the answers...but that would make a very short programme wouldn't it!
