No matter what you say, there is a legitimate need for 'honest' companies like wonga. They do not try to hide anything and are very open about their system. As a few educated people have stated on this post, when a loan is short term (less than a month) they have to list the interest as 'annual' apr because there is simply not a legal monthly equivalent, yet.

I agree that £130 interest and fees for borrowing £400 for 30 days is too much and as the idea of this site is payday style loans nobody should spending that far beyond their means the day after they have been paid. Not everybody can get an 0% interest credit card or an arranged overdraft so what do they do? Some of them go into an 'unarranged' overdraft and get charged £5 per day until their balance is back in the black. £5 x 30 = £150.

I have used them twice and they have been thorough and responsible throughout. They have a system that will actively help repair your credit rating rather than damage it further. For example I have borrowed £50 for 7 days from them. Total to repay = £59.33. So I paid £9.33 to borrow £50 for a week - most of you are saying "stupid" - "extortionate". Maybe, perhaps, but more affordable than paying £5 per day in overdraft fees for a week costing me £35 extra. It has its place, and some of us 'unfortunates' need services like this every now and again.

At the end of the day the answer is simple, If you can't afford it - don't buy it - use it - spend it.

So back to the original poster. He is doing some people here a favour as it is a genuine offer with a genuine and measurable saving so if you don't understand it....don't knock it and most definately don't flame it!
Worse deal I have ever seen, I thought credit cards were bad and beats me how they are allowed to offer such an extortionate rate.
These companies should be banned outright, just disgraceful parasites.:(
Was just about the vote cold, but it stands at '-666' which sums this 'offer' up

opps! Have to go for 6666 now.(_;)
