Woolworths 20% OFF EVERYTHING!!!

Just popped in to my local Woolworths (Birmingham, New Street) to take advantage of the 3 For 2 offer on sweets to find that not only have they brought the Pick & Mix 'cups' back but that there was an extra 20% off everything (including toys and games). There were no posters or leaflets advertising this so it was a bit of a suprise. Someone asked how long the offer was on for and they said till the 27th although they weren't sure.

Ended up getting the Godfather Trilogy on Blu Ray as well for £24!!!

No, the lady specifically asked about toys and games and they said they were in the offer too (they actually said everything!!!). So either the staff in the branch have it wrong or it's a different offer.

i was there this morning, and although i got sweets on the 3 for 2 offer there was no other money off in my local store.
#7
im still in 2 minds whether to wander down to my local one. i could grab another ps3 also as mine is the original one, i could do with one in the bedroom also as i had to move my downstairs tv up into the bedroom to make way for the new setup. tempting i have to say, if only i was not just soooo lazy today.

Just looking at the receipt and it says '20% off today' under each item and then subtracts 20% (including each of the 3 For 2 items). So maybe the staff are getting confused with this deal and the one fastfish77 mentioned in terms of how long it will last (they said 27th)?

Just called my local W (Ashton U L) 10% electricals (in other words the high value stuff) 20% off eveything else. Had hoped to get a DS Lite for £80.00 but £90.00 not bothering

Not true, this post is for anyone not just Friends & Family
#12
Well that post also states only 10% OFF DVD's. I got 20% OFF Blu Ray!!! And they were adamant that it was 20% OFF everything. Phone the Birmingham branch.

TBH I think you got lucky with that branch I've phoned 3 now and their all saying 20% off things you dont want ! and 10% off things you do :whistling:

A PS3 for instance would be nice at £240.00 !
#14
Just phoned Chorley and they confirmed only 10% off dvds, consoles etc
#15
Not voting until I can confirm. Was in one in Byres Road this afternoon and I never saw that deal.
#16
The deal that is on at the moment is the friends and family discount which is 20% of everything except electricals and entertainment (dvds etc)which are 10%. Lots of stores are opening up the sale to everyone but i am fairly sure it is unoffical. So it will probably be a bit hit and miss. You will not see any adverstising as it is not offical sale.

Agreed

They were handing out photocopy printed vouchers for 20% off outside my local Woolworths, i think it was a last minute decision by the company to bring people into the shops over this weekend.
#19
expect most of the big retailers to be doing this in the next couple of weeks

marks n spencer did it yesterday 20% off everything in store
#20
pay on credit card. if this mob goes bust as it looks like it might and your goods break there will be no where to take them back.
#21
I believe their share price crashed - from what I heard there was a conference call at lunch time to ALL stores which included this offer. They are in DIRE straits at the moment - their creditors have said they cant sell the stores and hence they will more than likely go down the pan. So yeah - pay on card for any electricals as you may end up with no warrentee.
#22
same as in Newcastle 10% off electricals and 20%off everything else and you also have to have a voucher to show at checkout (They were giving photocopies of these at the door):)

That's because this is a fire sale, Woolies are on the verge of collapse, and it seems some stores are more desperate than others to get rid of stock, fast.

Woolworths PLC have lost 30% of their market value today and are now worth less than £22million, a fraction of the value of the real estate alone! They are doomed, so any bargain hunters will have to be quick, this time next week they might not even exist!

fanpages

that is the console on its own, most retailers are bundkleing with a couple of games for about 300 now or less

that thread was not worth it that is why it did not sell:whistling:

Maybe i just got lucky with 20% off my Blu Ray but no vouchers were needed in the Birmingham branch. In that way it's different from the Friends and Family offer plus it's open to everyone not just family and friends.

I think it's too late for that, their share price is now so low and their debts so high going bust is innevitable.
#36
jus called my local woolworhs and this offer is on until thursdays.
#37
Yeahh mine said the same as the above poster, the keighley store btw
#38
where i live we don't have many shops-and we have a huge Woollies-they are a staple for toys (otherwise only independant toy shops), good clothes (kids wise only Adams and m&s otherwise) and household.........we'll really miss it here................................
#39
I see a few people are selling Woolworth's friends and family discount vouchers on eBay already
#40
People would sell their children on ebay of they could get a good price! Lol

Watford and St Albans dont have this offer on
