Decent price - excellent series of boilers.

How the hell do British Gas and the like get away with charging £3000 for a straight replacement of one of these, with very little new pipework etc.?

Because they are dick Turpin without a mask.

install it yourself if the order of the pipes is the same, easier than you think...

Err it's the installation of the gas pipe I'd be a tad concerned about :)

I need a new combi as my volkera sabre is on its last legs. Would this be powerful enough for a 4 bed terraced house with a bathroom and en suite showeroom. I have 10 radiators in total also.

Thanks

To do it to warranty standard at least £500

No combi will do two bathrooms simultaneously even the big ones. The radiators will be fine obviously.

If you have an electric shower in your en suite it will do it no problem

Depends what you are doing. Probably not if running a bath, but we use both showers at the same time

We've got a storage combi that can do a bath and shower simultaneously. It partly depends on the flow rate and pressure to the property, not just the size of the boiler.

Pressure to the property will more than likely be the standard 3 bar. Only the size of internal pipes & the number of fittings will determine the flow rate.

Had it's little brother installed when I renovated the flat.

That was 6+ years ago. The boiler has been flawless. Never missed beat. Was also a doddle to install a Smart Thermostat for it myself. (Mine has a Netatmo attached)

We've had our Greenstar 37CDI for 9 years now. It's serviced every year and has been going well until a few months ago when it started flashing error codes when the warm weather started. I've been told by a fair few tradesman lately that Vaillant boliers are the best to buy.

The 32cdi compact works really well with two showers at the same time, but the flow and pressure in my house is pretty good. I read loads of people saying no combi boiler can do two showers at once... I'm a bit stubborn, went ahead with the 32cdi and am more than happy. I think the 30i will not be enough if you like good shower pressure.

I would say no, your probably need the bigger one. I have similar and went for the 38cdi (i think???) just to have some redundency as well.

Gents I have an ageing 24CDi in a 3 bed semi that has been rock solid since it's birth which I think is a good 10-11 years? would this beasty be a good shout to replace or is it a bit overkill as we have great pressure from our 24CDi as is.

Also plumber friend recomends Vaillant now is that because it is easy for plumbers to service or that it is reliable? as replacing the expansion vessel was a complete tear down on my Bosch oO.

I have a 4 bed detached and was advised against a combi. In the end we went for the Greenstar 18ri, SC180 unvented cylinder and Nest. Working really well and I'm pleased with it. Cost about £4k all in.

Quality boilers. Had one installed around 2 years now, saving me a fortune on gas and works perfectly without a single issue.

Installation would be around £400 - £600 depending on the work that needs doing.

How do british gas charge so much? Because people pay it.

Worcester are still the market leader imo. Good after sales service amd a solid boiler.

Get your boiler serviced yearly and you'll have a boiler that can last 20years plus. Dont underestimate the power of a yearly service.

For what its worth - the 36cdi is an immense boiler - runs 2 showers with ease and for larger houses its a no brainer. I have 16 rads in my house - and 3 showers... 7 year warranty and around £100 a year to service (assuming youre not gas safe and cant do it yourself!)

Just my opinion

I'd recommend a heat only boiler with unvented cylinder

what kind of boiler do you have? ive got a 5 bed house, and doing some work to it. will end up with about 3 bathrooms. im going to have a unvented hot water cylinder. what kind of boiler would go with it? about 16 rads in total.

We replaced our 20 year old Ferroli combination with one of these and the claims of reducing gas bills by 30% are true.

£1149 Fitted, obviously you'll need to check certification of boiler warranty and gas safe certificate check.

Worcester are the masters of style over substance, lots of money spent on advertising, but their boilers are awful things. I pity the installer who has to fit this tupperware piece of junk :D.

Is of course the stupidest comment i've ever heard... Now ferroli boilers - theyre awful. But they pay my wages so i dont care - buy as many as you want!

Not really - for a proper job and safety cert - i think thats reasonable - so do customers...

Yes sir...
