Are you really cut out to do DIY when you struggle with assembling the tools :whistling:

That's my excuse .... "Look love, I can't even sort out the tools, don't expect me to do anyting with them"

Anyone else seen this deal in a local Asda? Any model numbers etc to confirm this? Brilliant deal for us all if its not just a small volume local store thing!

Just giving a heads up to people if it needs assembling (ala flatpack) the instructions etc are a joke.

My comment has some relevance. has yours?
#12
The picture looks like it is the most expensive B & D workmate in their range can't see this deal myself more like the £10 type work bench's reduced to £6 :?

I take it you have no children then :-D
#14
£6 for B&D is a great bargain. My basic no-name version cost more. Do you have exact model number?
#15
I doubt this is Black and Decker as the item shown comes assembled already. the only thing that does need fitting, are the handles. I bought one a couple of years ago from B&Q at half price.

i was in asda york the other day and they had the draper work bench for £8.50 reduced from £10

Have instuctions for any flatpack ever been useful?
But if someone does struggle with putting something together with instuctions how ever poor, How are they going to cope with doing a DIY job that hasn't got any instuctions on how to do it.

So i think me warning people they may end up doing more damage than good if they lack ability in DIY is a more relevant comment than yours

so what you are saying is that if you struggle to put this together (which i did), you are incompetant and shouldn't do anything related to DIY!!!
#18
In wembley it's the draper reduced to £6 from £8.50
#19
If its this model which is on amazon for £25 then perhaps it has been reduced to this price

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Decker-B-DWM301-Workmate/dp/B0001GS0FU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=diy&qid=1265278511&sr=8-2

but I doubt the bigger more heavy duty model would be sold for £6 - I have the bigger better version and
have thrown everything at it for 20 years and its still going strong !!

#22
Draper one £6 in my store.
#23
No chance this is the black and decker one in the picture,If its the draper then wickes are always selling the same type for £10.But watch them vote it hot.

Could be that one, I managed to buy the same one online for under £10 delivered last year, believe it was from tesco when they had a sale on.
#26
I'd love to get any make for that price. My £5 cheapos bought from Lidl a few years back try to cut my fingers off every time I close them. Hopefully this won't do that.
#27
So, can someone confirm whether this really is the one posted or not? Would be a fantastic bargain if it is but it seems very unlikely, in which case this post needs expiring as it's completely misleading.

Some people think every vacuum cleaner is a Hoover. Maybe OP thinks every folding workbench is a B&D Workmate?

Seems more likely it's one of those £9.99 no name ones reduced (still a good deal!) but I'd love to be proven wrong.
#28
It is definitely NOT a B+D Workmate.

It is a generic model that comes flatpacked and is sold under various names like Draper, Wickes, Toolstation, usually for £9.99.

For the money, it's a good value workbench for general DIY, even more so at £6.
#29
Very misleading post. Cold.
#30
My b&d came in one piece. The diy ones are crud and only worth £6
#31
I have a Blackspur one (One of the cheap ones that this one is meant to be) and it must be knocking on for 10 years old now and still working fine after some serious abuse. £6 is hot from me!
