The halogen lights in my mum's kitchen get rather hot, I was under the impression from my local electrician that halogen lighting is rather inefficient. I would have thought a powerful LED torch would be more suited in a portable device, however this Workzone spotlight may be able to warm pasties up on the go.
Not sure it'll be much use kept in the car unless you remember to re-charge it regularly.

LED is the way forward.

I wouldn't bother. In the days before good LED torches we a had a few rechargeable halogen "million candle power" torches. They were "wow" when you first got them but because the chargers were crap the batteries always died quickly, or the lamp would blow. I can't imagine this one is much better. I've had a few of the cheap Chinese "-fire" 18650 battery LED torches and they have performed and lasted much better, and the LED Lenser P7 torch I bought for £22.99 after seeing the deal on here the other week is awesome. I would look out for another deal like that rather than buy one of these.

Spend more time charging these than using the damn things.
Just sent two of these to the dump, even after Aldi's good customer service these are not great at lasting any decent length of time. As per above more time charging than being able to be used
sorry peeps, the halogen point completely went over my head, can only agree with the comments recommending led.
This is good, but be careful to disconnect the charger from mains after charging is done else the charger gets superhot and melts
Do u just insert the charger as normal or is there a way to insert it to charge it as I can't seem to get the charging light on to say it is charging .
