I was after a cheap usb tv tuner to pop into my pc at work for the world cup games, and didn't want to spend £60. This seems to be the best deal around if you are after something cheap, but with a brand. Play.com do no-name versions for £15, but i wanted to collect instore tomorrow, so it was no good for me.

I think this should be better quality, or at least have regular software updates.

Beware - it's a web only price - you need to pre-order online if you want to pick up instore - instore price is £35

The chances are that where your PC will be, you probably won't get reception. The aerials that come with these things are useless, you really need to connect it up to a roof aerial. Why not just stream it?

Just go to tvcatchup.com.By the way you still need a tv licence at work to watch on a computer.

if i could stream it i would, but all streaming sites are barred at work by our server. I would watch online at home if my landlord would let me get a phoneline installed, but i only have 5gb/month broadband, which won't really cut it for this month.

try getting a little program called ultra surf, it will bypass your firewall.

are bbc and itv banned at your work place?

Good deal as I paid £30 a few weeks ago. Very good turner as it also has a normal size ariel socket and the included ariel is not bad if you have good reception.

If I was you I would not install any software on your work machine that tries to by pass the firewall as that could get you in big trouble work wise.

And likely get you sacked.

Well he's risking that anyway by just watching it. I definitely wouldn't install anything on the pc at work if they're pretty strict. Rent a VPS for a month, ssh tunnel out of work and stream through the tunnel.
