Saw these in Eastleigh Poundland today for the first time.
Seems like a good price to anyone new to WoW.
Most players would already have these though.

wow:o shame i would never find it in my local

I haven't touched WoW for years but I know its still popular. I remember paying about £30 for discs, as the download was too big for my internet to handle!

Confirmed, saw this in poundland Ipswich a few hours ago. I wonder how many parents will buy this for kids oblivious that it's an expansion pack. Never really saw the point of WOW.

Are these even needed any more? If I remember right, all accounts got upgraded to cataclysm for free. Haven't touched WoW in years so I'm not too sure.

These aren't needed. If you buy WoW, be it digital or standalone, both these and BC are included. If you bought WoW once upon a time your account will be upgraded to include Cata. These dont include 30 days so are completely unneccesary.

Cold.

This for the disc only though, no activation key.... Thus... Kind of useless.

Well if they're sealed and wrapped, could be a good buy to keep and sell on as a collectable later (_;)

Mass produced.

Reading the comments back, didnt know all accounts were upgraded for free. Havent been on in it years.
Some people like having a physical copy though...I guess...xD

These are as usless as old AOL discs, but they've been vanishing off the shelves at the local Poundland.

Voted hot as I like the packaging that WoW comes in.

There was a load in Poundland in the Arndale Manchester. Pointless though as others have said.

Nothing is free - especially WoW. Sure you get the data downloaded as you play.So you are correct to some degree but you cannot play the new expansions without purchasing an authentication code. This code was included inside the dvd, but you can buy them online too.
If these contain authentication codes it is a cracking deal. If not they make good coasters.

Really don't need these unfortunately. Even as a backup you'd have to download so many updates. You can start playing after 5 mins as you can use the downloader that only downloads the essential bits and starter areas first.

The expansions never include game time. The cheapest way to start should bethis link for £2.50. Can't check if it still works as you need to make a starter account first. You will get 30days plus expansions up to and including cataclysm.

This is very much true!! £10 for all the exp packs up to cata.

lovely box with a nice printed manual with art & lore - still have all my blizzard game boxes. pretty useless otherwise, you won't even be saving much bandwidth with all the patches needed.

Not quite. These expansions are old content. If a current expansion subscriber, they are provided free. If completely new to the game, these are still redundant and unnecessary as when signing up you pay for the current expansion which is mists of pandaria, you don't buy every expansion, they are provided free.

If these old expansions contained an authentication code, this would be irrelevant as you cannot use that code for the latest expansion.

These expansions are no longer valid. However if you bought one in error you could try contacting Blizzard support as they may upgrade your account anyway.

Cold for me.

As other people have stated, completely unneeded now, hence why they're going for such a cheap price. Upgrade to the starter edition and get up to Cataclysm and a free month. It would be a lot lot cheaper.

It's worth it if you like having the physical copies though. Blizzard make some really nice physical cases that open and have multiple pictures.

Cold, as others have said, these are now free, and yes free is the right term. If you were even tempted to buy these you'd need to have the base game anyway, and these (and also Burning Crusade) are now included with the base game so very cold.

Oh and not even worth while as a physical backup as the files will be massively out of date, will be quicker to download direct via battle.net, rather than installing off disc, you'll just essentially end up downloading it anyway.

These are worthless, all expansions prior to pandaria are now standard when purchasing wow. Unless you purely want these for collection.
