Nice find Edi - Stock available locally for me (Exeter).

Thank you.
#3
Reserved one, just in case I can be bothered to go get it :p
#4
Hot deal.
Recently purchased the £8.99 jigsaw, and its rubbish - took it back.
Hopefully this one will be better.

Thanks Edi
#5
Like it....... 21 blades and carry case

Nice Spot OP
#6

#7

Excellent price! Thanks edi

I bought the challange one from Argos when it was about £9. One word to describe it - dangerous. Almost total lack of safety features, what was present didnt work and the thing felt like I had bought it week by week from the front of a magazine and put it together when drunk.

Hopefully this one should be a bit better and for that price certainly looks very good! In stock in Portsmouth and Chichester on the south coast.
#10
would appear now to be out of stock even for delivery?

a couple of reviews say this thing cant cut a straight line

Cutting action was excellent but pulled to the left whilst cutting a
straight line .. returned to shop

Strange action , the saw veers to the right, something that I have never
experienced with another similar saw.

so make your own mind up

One reviewer was left handed, one right, and both weak wristed? As the saying goes..

"A poor workman always blames his tools"

Oh and I cant control a router for ****, faulty damn things :p
#13
you are probebly right! but in my experiance these cheap power tools are almost always ****, use once and throw away
#14
I don't know. I've got a couple of 21v Challenge drills and one of the SDS ones as well and they've been fine for years. Compare that to the normal corded drills i've had from other places with their useless plastic gears that get stripped after a few uses.... It's not all bad stuff. Also as this was selling (alledgedly) at £50ish it should be ok(ish) I would have thought. At the end of the day its about what I paid for my old basic b&d jigsaw and that WAS **** from day one lol.
#15
Always the same with tools, you get what you pay for, obviously this isn't going to be as good as a £140 Makita, but if its not a daily workhorse then should be fine for the odd job here and there

Agreed, these are not designed for industrial use, at least if it gets nicked, you have only lost £15.;-)

Nice find :)
Found and reserved at my local(ish) branch (Heanor).
Voted hot!

Just picked up 2, these are quite large and heavy (5.6Kg) to carry. Park as close as you can to the shop. Not opened the box to inspect the contents but pleased so far with my purchase.
#19
just bought one as well

hope it isn't as heavy as the whole thing... (though you don't have to park that close unless you're a 5st weakling ;)

They offered 12 blades for £7. Is that a good deal?

Got a code for the blades?

Got one of these for Xmas last year and have only used occasionally but for the money on offer here - can't go wrong in my opinion. Comes with plenty of blades and solid case and has worked fine
I also have trouble cutting in a straight line with it but put it down to my own lack of skill!!
#22
Just back, had a look and its seems solid enough, good selection of USEFUL blades too which is a bit of a shock and they seem pretty well made compared to the usual Argos rubbish. Also comes with a 3 year limited warranty, whatever that means.
#23
Excellent, had to pay £19.74 with postage but hey ho, now i can build, errrr stuff
#24
Just tested it and it definately works. Made a nice curved line, probably would have been straight if i'd bothered to mark it out first. Also has a built in ice blue LED worklight:thumbsup:

The wierdest thing is, it seems IDENTICAL to THIS one at £39.99 but a bit more powerfull:?
#25
Thanks edi - Just what I was looking for! Picked one up from my local argos and I was pleasantly surprised my the quality of it! p.s. It is quite heavy to carry a long distance - especially in this heat! :lazy:
#26
Thanks guys :)

Reserved mine and should collect before tomorrow..
#27
exellent piece of kit nice price aswell well spotted...and the 550watt one doesnt come with blades either so well spotted op
#28
Ashford (New Rents) is the only place I can find in Kent that has any left, so if anybodys local to there.... ;-)
#29
For those who cannot cut in a straight line, try using the parallel guide which will hold it to the edge of what you are cutting (so long as room permits).

It's darn good value and good quality kit, with blades that don't need a tool to fit, a long cable (with velcro tie - nice touch), dust extraction, lots of settings inc pendulum action for better cuts.
#30
I've bought one i work in the construction industry but i wont be using it everyday . most of my kit is dewalt , makita or hilti but i cant justify paying £140+ for something i might use once a week.
#31
was going to get one for my mother-in-law as she likes jigsaws but then saw what it was :giggle:
#32
got one!......first class.......well spotted mate!
#33
If anyone is in Droitwich or Sheffield ....

There is one reserved until tomorrow (Friday) night in Droitwich on code 3913 and one in Sheffield (The Moor) on code 6824.

I'm in in both places tomorrow so reserved this morning but then managed to pick one up at Kingsditch, Cheltenham tonight.
#34
got one thanks OP
#35
I found one to reserve in Blackwood. Many thanks op.

Best wishes, Neil
#36
well managed to pick one of these up and it feels like a good quality item. Very surprised at the package for just shy of 15 quid.

used bosch in the past and like most jigsaws they normally cut slightly at a angle.
#37
A good Jigsaw does not cut at an angle it should cut straight. If it does take it back.
#38
I picked one up last night.. Not tried it yet, but does look like value for money.
#39
Just picked up the one I reserved yesterday. Looks like a good buy to me. Just waiting for the other half to tell me if its any good
#40
Picked up mine today, top bit of kit worth the money for the blades alone, Thanks.:-D
