What's wrong with XP?

agreed...best and most reliable microsoft os - vista was dreadful....i just went from xp to windows 7 (although i suspect 7 is based on vista but 7 is prob what vista should have been )

guess it wont be long before they stop supporting xp

Would stay clear from this one...refurbished and most important no upgrade available for all-in-one.Procesor speed is very low,as well as hard drive of 160GB is very low these days. Better woud go with netbook, same spec and portable.

Touchscreen support built-in with Windows 7?

I wondered that but how can they sell it as a touchscreen if there is not touchscreen software on the machine in the first place?

"cold for the "wow""

Oh, and there I was thinking that the voting mechanism was purely for the deal in question?

That's just so stooopid.

Thats a big statement to apply to every user of HUKD....

a) whats wrong with refurbished as long as it comes with warranty... I got my MSI Wind refurbished saved about £50 on the price and its still going 2 years later despite daily use and constant abuse of being thrown in a draw / under the sofa etc.

b) its and Atom processor, same as they use in netbooks - for surfing / e-mail / word processing (which I would say is 90% of the population) it will be more than adequate. Not everyone wants a netbook if its never likely to leave the house then small screen and keyboard are a PITA.

Agree with the 160GB HDD but usb drives are a great option.

(some report a loud fan - which is a bit of a dealbreaker for me).

Will it work?!! :)

Worth a go! :) (MSI nettop can be hackintoshed, and you can put a touchscreen on a MSI netbook hackintosh)

+1 - Best online sources to check out are the following, to see if there are any guides or compatible kexts to use, to cover the missing hardware support within the Mac OS X.

InsanelyMac
http://www.insanelymac.com/
Note - Check out the forum and the osx86 database

InsanelyWind « Netbooks, Tablets, and Phones!

Note - I know this blog and forum are more for the MSI Wind netbooks but the core hardware is the same as the nettop

Apparently you can overclock the CPU as well but this is at your own risk.

I've found a similar deal for the eMachine EZ1600 All-In-One Desktop (going for £246.24p, with free delivery included from Amazon UK) - I've kicked off a deal thread for it but the key thing is it doesn't have the integrated touchscreen that the MSI nettop has.
