if you have seen the carlsberg home chilled beer dispenser advertised on tv then this is a great alternative.you can put any 5lt lager/beer barrels in it or you can use it to chill wine or fruit juice in the 6lt container they give you. the carlsberg one only allows you to put a carlsberg barrel in which cost £13.99 each.take your spend over £125 and receive a total of 3000 advantage points worth when you enter code xmas73 points are worth a penny each so that £30 worth

im glad its getting voted cold because thats exactly what it does to the drinks put in it lol

just put the beer in the fridge??????

i was wondering whether it was an obscure joke :-D

I know this debate always rages on (and this isn't the forum to discuss it) but it's annoying when things are marked down for unknown reasons. I've never seen this gadget and would like to know why it's not good or where it's cheaper....specifically where it's cheaper

I'll go and scoot off to google later..

Edit: Letting my excitement cool a little I realise it's pretty pricey considering a can does the same thing!
Still, looks like a good price.

everywhere i look these five litre kegs seem to be v v expensive - way more than buying 5 litres of booze in bottles or cans you could store in the fridge.

i'm a real ale lover so i know the benefits of cask ale - can't see the benefits of spunkin out £100-odd on a dispenser and then loads more cash on the drink itself.

anyone?

Agree- for a home bar it's cheaper to have bottles in the fridge then to use one of these.

ok on a different note, where can you get carlsberg export on draught for £1.55 a pint (£13.99 a keg for the carlsberg draughtmaster)

Fair enough :) I'd be daft to buy one of these though- hubby would be drunk until the keg ran out

its not about having a fridge as i stated if anyone wanted the carlsberg one then this is a better more useable cheaper alternative .i have a beer fridge and i would use this for cold drinks for kids then when i have a party or barbeque or xmas then the lager would go in it.its not cheap but is there a cheaper home draught tap system available. this works out at £95 with the boots points.vote it based on an equivalent product not because you think its an expensive gadget

Carlsberg don't do bargains, but if they did, they clearly WOULDN'T be the best bargains in the World...

add the cost of the machine and the 1st 100 or so pints u will have to add a £1 to that total

it's complete pants:

Carlsberg’s 5-litre beer chiller uses around 1.7 kWh of electricity per day, which adds up to an annual consumption of at least 621 kWh – equivalent to the power used by five ordinary A+ rated refrigerators with a combined volume of 1,000 litres.

That's £70/year in electricity.

Plus it only works on Carlsberg.....

I got a Stainless Steel finish mini fridge with drinks dispenser from Tesco for £50. Same as the one in link below.
Expensive to run but i only switch it on when entertaining and will use when away in caravan.

This post is about wunderbar not the carlsberg draughtmaster? the wunderbar uses 70watts of electricity equivalent to a typical light bulb.it is fully insulated so can be taken outdoors for a number of hours and beer will remain cold.read the topic before making comments that are nothing to do with the product in the post

this wunderbar works on nearly every 5lt or 6lt keg beers and lagers available so yes the carlsberg draughtmaster is pants and this is a much better alternative

with the £100 spent on this, then the money for the beer for it, i bet i could stock my fridge up 10 times over with beer from the supermarket deals etc. not to mention the £10 of £30 tesco codes etc....

waste of money imo
