Hot! Much better to me than some dodgy site sending a code via email.
#2
And they charge you £34.99
#3
this has already been posted, same price on xbox website, or £28.99 for 13 months
#4
???? £39.99 for 12 months on X Box Site ????
#5
I paid £28.99 from jasper for 12 months + 1 month free,
Email delivery within the hour,
Worked fine.
#6
10% off if bought on a Virgin Credit card?

Would bring it down to £24.30

I paid £23 for a 12+1 month code from a US based eBay seller. Had the code emailed to me within 15min of paying. Americans pay less for their Live subs and the subscription codes aren't region locked like the points are .
#8
Is that true? because on some US ebay auctions the seller says "This item will only work for accounts in the U.S., D.C., Canada, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. " but some auctions say they work worldwide.. Confused

I think that's probably in reference to the MS Points, as these are region locked (unlike Live subs).

Rumour has it they are going to give it away!!

Following the success of the PS3 and Wii online which are both free I have heard that microsoft are going to give X Box Live away for free in the near future.

Not since they went into administration, they don't accept discounts or gift cards.

Do you get the physical card as proof? How do you know your code isn't being generated by a key gen?
#17

Yeah right, I call bs on that rumour unless you have proof, I would love it to be free but I doubt M$ would and I'll be amazed if Sony don't start charging for PSN in the future imo.
#19
i call BS too. wii online is hardly a success. With PSN you get slow downloads and game servers that are hardly ever up like little big planet

I'll be buying this from zavvi, great deal for a great gaming service
#20
The success of Wii and PS3 online?? Your having a laugh right? Home is an unmitigated disaster, the only time I've tried to play online on my PS3 (LBP) it was sooooo slow and Wii online is virtually non-existant so I suspect your pulling our legs.

I currently just renew my Live subscription automatically, is there any way to cancel that and retain your profile using purchased subscriptions or do you have to sign up with a new profile every time?

I'd hope they don't.

When little kids have to pay for the privilege of on-line gaming it means they actually want to do it.

My sister says PS3 is virtually unplayable online because it's just loads of little kids shouting stuff and being generally idiotic.

I've not had that on XBox games.
#22
Good deal if you can find it...Sheffield Zavvi had no Live subsripctions when I went in on Monday

I find that hard to believe too. I play on Xbox Live with only my friends voice communications enabled.

.

thats not my experience of ps3 online. Most games take place in silence with no voice chat at all as hardly anyone owns headsets, which does ruin team games
banned#27
I like it that you have to pay and tie into an account, on the ps3 people set up an account, p1ss people off and ruin games, then set up another free account. Xbox have stopped that.
#28
I very much doubt MS will be making Live access free in the near future... or ever, perhaps. To my eyes, I reckon they're discounting xboxes so heavily right now not only to get the units shifting, but also in the intention of getting 75% of those who buy xboxes onto Live as Gold subscribers.

Eh? The card's irrelevant. If the code works then what's the big issue?

Exactly.

PSN isn't a patch on XBL, I'd rather pay for a FARRR superior service.
#31
Hmm, should I get this or online code for £24.99?

yyeah... and that rumour has been around about 2 years.
#33
If XBL becomes free would MS refund people who have paid already?

lol not going to happen. MS make a huge profit on charging and the general concensus is it's worth the money.

But a few weeks before that I got a 12 + 1 month code from jasper1675 for £27.50. (he has put his price up twice in the last two months!).

With a dramatic change in US Dollar to GBP exchange rates in the last 2 months who'd of thunk it? ;-)

Anyway not a bad deal especially for a store, personally I shop around online and just get a code emailed, was £25.99 last time. You'd have to be mad to pay the full RRP.

All discounts have been suspended according to a sign in the window of the MetroCentre Zavvi, so no student or CC discount i imagine

Got one in Zavvi Leeds a few weeks back when student discount was still operating, for around £27, but not sure if there'll be any left there, although there were masses on the floor at the time! Nothing in Newcastle Northumberland St!

Of course it's not. My first gamertag was suspended as I bought a code on eBay which turns out to have been generated via a key gen. When someone bought a card in the shops with the same code as mine (which I had already used), MS banned my account. As I couldn't provide them with the physical game time card as I never received it, I didn't have a leg to stand on. If I did have the card, the matter could have been resolved.
#37
Not sure if you have the 10% off at Zavvi near you, but the Bristol branch (Cabot Circus) had 10% off everything on top of the existing prices yesterday.
#38
You don't have use a new porfile. Just cancel youe automatic renewal than use redeem code instead
#39
I loathe paying for XBL, the kids and trash talkers seem to be getting more abundant, although you do sometimes find good people on there to play with.

However since I built my new pc a few months ago I find playing online via the pc so much more enjoyable!
