A new X-COM game, not the horrible FPS spin-off that is also coming out.
Some people, myself included, generally only buy PC games through Steam. So yeah, that might have been a good deal, but I'd rather pay slightly more for what is still a good deal and have the convenience of having it with all my other games. Nothing to do with being a 'steam sheep' I like the service, and it's convenient.
Only 85p!!
But it's not 85p now is it (_;)
No one said the other deal wasn't hot. It was. The fact is convenience is taken into the equation, if money is the only motivating factor for you, great. But don't say it has nothing to do with the deal because it definitely does. How many people complain about great deals because they're from pixmania? Doesn't stop the deals there being lower priced, but most people would rather pay slightly more from somewhere else more reputable. And I'm not saying the other place selling the games wasn't reputable, just that most people prefer to deal with steam.
Good price for the XCOM collection, though it has been in previous Steam sales.
XCOM UFO Defence (aka Enemy Unknown) and TFTD are the original turn based games, while Apocalypse introduced a mixture of real time with pause when you like combat. Interceptor was a space combat spin off that I enjoyed but had mixed reactions. Enforcer was a very poor shooter spin off.
oO I totally missed this. This could be awesome! Thanks for the info!

Last time I tried to play XCOM: UFO Defense, I could not slow the computer down enough to be able to control the world screen. Has this been fixed, if so will get.
I totally agree. In principle there is no difference buying from Steam as the game registers with Steam anyway.
No its £2.49 which still makes it cheaper u muppet!
What's the point of being rude? I never said it wasn't still cheaper. Looking on Google the Steam version uses Dosbox to play the games properly on modern computers plus if you have Steam and not Gamersgate, what's 56p for convenience?
You were being sarcastic and completely ignoring the point of people only voting hot because it has steam in the title, the original deal was alot better and still is better priced and yet it hardly got any heat.
I agree. Sure, you can get them a bit cheaper elsewhere but then have to download them all, install them all, link them all into Steam and then manually update them all if any patches come out. Steam takes care of all this.
Don't get me wrong, if there was a massive price difference I'd consider it, but I'd rather pay the couple of quid extra for the Steam versions. Great prices everywhere for this though, especially as the new game is coming - more devs should do this!
As UFO was the game I bought a PC for (back in the Amiga hayday) I'm very glad to see people still like this game.

Well Captain Obvious, you are Correct!
But that has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not this is a hot deal, and I for one can't see how a deal where the exact same product can be bought from elsewhere for less can be called a hot deal.
Damn I didn't see that, I am going to wait. these games are likely to pop up again (if it does can someone send me a pm in case I don't see the deal).
